The OXO Good Grips 5 qt stainless steel strainer is a sturdy, easy-drain colander built to rinse vegetables and drain family-sized pasta quickly and safely.

It fits neatly into OXO mixing bowls for compact storage and balances performance with low maintenance, making it a practical addition to busy home kitchens.

How does this colander speed up draining and rinsing?

The strainer’s all-over perforated design lets water escape evenly over the entire surface so liquids clear faster and food doesn’t pool. Large, consistent holes strike a balance between fast drainage and secure containment of small ingredients like peas or quinoa.

• Full-surface perforations maximize water flow for quicker draining.
• Hole size engineered to keep small foods from slipping through.
• Stainless-steel construction resists warping for sustained performance.

Will it feel stable and safe when I lift a full load?

Yes—the colander features two elevated, non-slip Good Grips handles that provide secure control even with wet hands and heavy contents. Three raised feet keep the basket steady in the sink or on the counter so you can shake, tap or let drained food rest without tipping.

• Comfortable elevated handles reduce strain when lifting full batches.
• Non-slip grip texture helps maintain control during use.
• Three feet stabilize the bowl during rinsing and resting.

How easy is it to store and maintain this OXO colander?

The 5-qt colander nests inside OXO stainless-steel mixing bowls, saving cabinet space and simplifying cleanup routines. Stainless steel resists staining and is dishwasher-safe for low-effort maintenance after rinsing off food bits.

• Nests neatly with OXO mixing bowls for compact storage.
• Dishwasher-safe stainless steel cleans quickly; hand rinse first if needed.
• Durable finish resists discoloration and odor retention.

What kinds of cooking tasks is this colander best suited for?

The 5-quart capacity is sized for family meals—perfect for draining spaghetti, rinsing berries, or washing large batches of greens. Its combination of capacity and hole pattern makes it a versatile tool for everyday meal prep without needing specialized strainers.

• Large enough for family-size pasta and bulk produce.
