Ortho Year Long Vegetation Killer Refill 1 gal – Ready-to-Use Concentrate, Up to 12-Month Prevention

Ortho GroundClear Year Long Vegetation Killer Refill (1 gal) is a ready-to-use concentrate refill that kills existing weeds and grasses and helps prevent new growth for up to one year when applied as directed.

Keep driveways, sidewalks, gravel areas and other hardscapes clear of weeds with this 1-gallon refill designed to be used with your existing Comfort Wand applicator. The formula works quickly—visible effects often appear within an hour and the spray becomes rainproof in about an hour—so treated areas stay tidy while the product also provides long-term prevention. This refill lets you avoid repeated bottle purchases while delivering broad-spectrum vegetation control across many outdoor surfaces.

How quickly will I see results after I spray?

The formula begins acting immediately on contact, and many users notice visible dieback within an hour. Results continue over several days as the active ingredients move into the root systems for more complete control.

• Visible wilting and browning often within 1 hour.
• Rainproof in about 1 hour after application.
• Full dieback and decomposition over days to weeks depending on species.

Where is this refill safe and effective to use?

Use this product on outdoor hard surfaces and non‑lawn areas where you want to remove unwanted vegetation. It’s formulated for driveways, sidewalks, paver patios, gravel driveways, rock and desert landscapes, under decks, parking areas and along fence lines.

• Hardscape and gravel areas—no broadcast lawn use recommended.
• Edges, cracks, and between pavers for targeted control.
• Use under structures and along curbs for annual maintenance.

How do I apply the refill using my Comfort Wand?

Transfer the refill into your original Comfort Wand bottle to reuse the applicator for easy, upright spraying without bending or repeated pumping. Prep the wand, attach the refill as directed, set your sprayer pattern, and apply directly to the unwanted vegetation.

• Apply on a sunny day when weeds are actively growing and temperatures are above 60°F.
• Target visible foliage—avoid overspray onto desirable plants.
• Keep people and pets off treated surfaces until spray has dried.

How long does the one-year prevention last and what affects it?

The product helps prevent new weed growth for up to 12 months after a proper application, but effectiveness depends on surface type, weather, and how well the area was treated. Heavy foot traffic, soil disturbance or repeated seeding can shorten the prevention period.

• Up to 1 year of reduced weed emergence under normal conditions.
• High-disturbance areas may need reapplication sooner.
• Follow label directions for best long-term control and safety.
