ORIJEN Regional Red Dry Dog Food 4.5 lb - Poultry-Free, Grain-Free WholePrey High-Protein

ORIJEN Regional Red is a poultry-free, grain-free WholePrey dry dog food made from 85% fresh or raw animal ingredients to deliver a high-protein, nutrient-dense diet for most life stages.

This recipe emphasizes diverse red meats — beef, wild boar, lamb, pork and beef liver — combined as fresh or raw WholePrey components to supply protein, natural vitamins and minerals without poultry or grain fillers. Crafted for most life stages (not for growth of large breed puppies over 70 lb adult expected weight), Regional Red focuses on biologically appropriate textures and flavors, with freeze-dried bits added for aroma and palatability. Ingredients arrive to the kitchen fresh or frozen and are prepared to preserve nutrients and natural fatty acids.

How does Regional Red deliver complete nutrition without poultry?

Regional Red replaces poultry proteins with a rich mix of red meats and organs to provide essential amino acids and micronutrients. WholePrey inclusion means muscle, organs and connective tissues are present to mimic natural prey composition.

• 85% of ingredients are fresh or raw animal-sourced (unprocessed state estimate)
• First five ingredients: fresh/raw beef, wild boar, lamb, pork, beef liver
• Organs included for vitamins and trace elements
• Grain-free formulation—no corn, wheat, soy or tapioca

What benefits can owners expect for skin, coat and immune support?

Regional Red contains naturally occurring Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids from animal sources plus added antioxidants and vitamin E to support skin integrity and immune health. These nutrients help maintain a glossy coat and resilient skin barrier when fed as part of a balanced diet.

• Omega fatty acids from included fresh and raw meats
• Antioxidants and vitamin E for immune support
• High protein supports tissue repair and healthy skin cells
• Freeze-dried coating enhances acceptance and flavor

How should I feed ORIJEN Regional Red to my dog?

Feed amounts depend on your dog’s age, activity level and body condition; this formula is suitable for all life stages except large-breed growth. Introduce gradually over several days if switching from another food to reduce digestive upset.

• Measure portions according to weight and activity; adjust to maintain ideal body condition
• Not recommended for growth of large-breed dogs expected to reach 70 lb or more as adults
• Introduce over 5–7 days: start with 25% new food and increase to 100%
• Provide fresh water and regular veterinary check-ups for diet adjustments

What makes the WholePrey approach different from standard kibble?

WholePrey aims to mirror the variety and balance found in whole animals by including muscle meat, organs and cartilage. This approach supplies a broad spectrum of naturally occurring nutrients, reducing reliance on synthetic additives for key vitamins and minerals.

• Includes nutrient-rich organs alongside muscle meat
• Connective tissues supply collagen-building components
• Reduces need for isolated synthetic supplements
• Freeze-dried pieces enhance texture and scent to encourage eating

Who is this formula best for? ORIJEN Regional Red is targeted at pet owners who want a high-protein, poultry-free, grain-free dry food made from a variety of red meats and organs. It suits adult and many life-stage dogs that thrive on biologically appropriate diets and benefit from the natural fats and micronutrients in whole animal ingredients. Avoid this formula for large-breed puppies during their rapid growth stage; consult your veterinarian if your dog has special dietary needs or known food sensitivities.
