Oregon chainsaw sharpening kit — Universal 7-piece field set with 3 round files & flat file, canvas roll

The Oregon Universal Chainsaw Field 7-Piece Sharpening Kit is a compact, travel-ready set that provides files, a guide, and a handle to restore chain cutting performance on site.

Whether you work in forestry, landscaping, or maintain tools around the property, a sharp chain saves time and improves control. This portable kit collects the essential files and accessories into a durable rolled canvas pouch so you can sharpen chainsaws, pole saws and other cutting tools wherever the job takes you. The included instruction sheet and filing chart help you match the right file size and technique to the chain for consistent results.

How does this kit make field sharpening faster and more reliable?

The kit is organized for quick access and accurate filing. Files of different diameters are paired with a universal handle and a guide to help you set the correct depth and angle, so you spend less time guessing and more time cutting.

• Three round files (3/16, 5/32, 7/32) cover common chain pitches
• 6-inch flat file for depth gauge maintenance
• File guide enforces consistent filing angle and depth
• Universal handle fits all included files for secure control

Which chains and cutting tools will this set work with?

This sharpening kit supports a wide range of consumer and light professional chains used on chainsaws and pole saws. The three file sizes accommodate common tooth sizes, and the flat file addresses depth gauges and other flat surfaces on the chain.

• Suitable for most 3/8", .325" and 1/4" chain pitches within the included file range
• Works with chainsaw and pole saw chains for lawn, property, and jobsite tasks
• Flat file useful for depth gauges and small repairs

What comes in the pouch and how is everything stored for transport?

The components are arranged in individual pockets inside a rugged rolled canvas pouch that closes with a loop. This keeps each tool secure and visible so you can evaluate wear or replace a file quickly while out in the field.

• Three round chain files, one 6" flat file, universal handle, file guide
• Instruction sheet with a filing chart stored in its own pocket
• Durable canvas roll with inner pockets and a loop closure for compact transport

How do I choose the right file size and maintain safe sharpening practice?

Use the included filing chart to identify the correct file diameter for your chain pitch. Maintain firm, controlled strokes, follow the guide’s angle recommendations, and file only in the recommended direction to preserve tooth shape and cutting performance.

• Match file diameter to chain pitch using the included chart
• Use the file guide to hold the correct angle and depth gauge setting
• Inspect teeth regularly and replace worn files to avoid uneven sharpening
