Orbit Traveling Tractor Water Sprinkler — Cast-Iron Body, Self-Propelled, Three-Speed, 15–55 ft Coverage

The Orbit Traveling Tractor Water Sprinkler is a self-propelled, water-powered traveling sprinkler with a cast-iron body that automatically rolls along your hose to water large lawns with adjustable coverage and three travel speeds.

Rather than dragging multiple stationary sprinklers or moving one by hand, this traveling sprinkler behaves like a miniature irrigation tractor: water pressure drives internal gearing that powers the unit along a hose while rotary spray arms distribute water around the machine. Built with a heavy-duty cast-iron chassis and high-traction spiked wheels, it is designed for repeat seasonal use and stable movement across most turf types. Adjustable spray arms and selectable speeds help you dial in coverage for a range of lawn sizes, saving time and effort when compared to manual repositioning.

How far and how evenly will this sprinkler water my lawn?

The sprinkler's adjustable rotary arms let you set a watering diameter roughly from 15 feet up to 55 feet, letting you tailor the spray to small patches or wide swaths. As it travels along the hose, the rotating arms lay down a consistent pattern rather than one concentrated spot, reducing overlap and missed areas when routed properly.

• Adjustable spray radius: ~15–55 ft to suit different yard sizes
• Rotary arm design distributes water in sweeping arcs for even coverage
• Travel along an extended hose route to cover large contiguous areas

Will it run reliably on my lawn surface and in different weather conditions?

Orbit's traveling tractor uses spiked, high-traction wheels and a cast-iron body to remain stable while moving across typical lawns. While it’s made for normal turf and most yard gradients, very steep slopes, extremely soft mud, or heavy debris can affect movement and may require supervision or route adjustments.

• Cast-iron body for stability and long-term durability
• Spiked traction wheels maintain forward motion across grass
• Best suited for level to gently sloped yards; avoid very steep or obstructed routes

How do I control watering duration and travel speed?

The unit offers three selectable speeds that change how fast it travels along your hose, letting you control how much water each area receives. Combine speed selection with the spray radius setting and hose route length to set up a predictable, automated watering cycle with minimal hands-on monitoring.

• Three speed settings to adjust travel rate and distribution time
• Use longer hose routes or slower speeds for increased soak time
• Turn water supply off to stop and reset the sprinkler immediately

What construction and warranty protections come with the sprinkler?

Designed for repeated outdoor use, the Traveling Tractor’s cast-iron body and durable components help minimize wear from regular watering seasons. Orbit backs this sprinkler with a six-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects for private consumer use, offering added peace of mind.

• Heavy-duty cast-iron housing for long service life
• Durable internal gearing driven by water pressure — no external power required
• Six-year limited warranty for consumer protection

Who is this for? Homeowners with medium to large lawns who want automated, hands-free irrigation without installing fixed in-ground systems will appreciate the Orbit Traveling Tractor. It suits gardeners who prefer a rugged, mechanical solution that uses only water pressure to operate and who need flexible coverage across irregular lawn shapes or large continuous areas. If you want to reduce time spent moving sprinklers while maintaining adaptable spray patterns, this model offers a dependable, long-lasting option.
