Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Micellar Casein Protein Powder Chocolate Supreme 2 lb — 24g Slow-Release Protein for Nighttime Rec

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Micellar Casein in Chocolate Supreme is a slow-digesting protein powder delivering 24 g of protein per serving to support overnight and between-meal recovery.

This micellar casein powder from Optimum Nutrition is formulated to release amino acids steadily over several hours, making it a popular choice for nighttime use or long gaps between meals. Each scoop provides 24 grams of high-quality protein and nearly 9 grams of naturally occurring essential amino acids, combined with minerals like calcium, magnesium and zinc. The Chocolate Supreme flavor mixes easily in a shaker or blender and comes in a compact 2 lb container with 25 servings—handy for gym bags and kitchen cupboards alike.

How does micellar casein differ from whey for recovery?

Micellar casein coagulates in the stomach and digests slowly, supplying amino acids to muscles over a longer period than fast-absorbing whey. That sustained release helps reduce muscle breakdown when you won’t eat for several hours, such as overnight. It's often used as a complement to faster proteins, not necessarily a replacement.

• Slow digestion supports prolonged amino acid availability
• Ideal before sleep or long intervals without food
• Can be paired with whey for immediate plus sustained delivery
• 24 g protein and ~9 g essential amino acids per serving

How should I prepare Gold Standard Casein for best results?

This powder mixes well either shaken with water or milk, or blended into smoothies for richer texture. Use a shaker bottle for convenience when you’re on the go, or a blender if you want a thicker, dessert-like treat. Start with the recommended scoop and adjust liquid to taste and desired thickness.

• Shake with 8–12 oz water or milk for a quick drink
• Blend with fruit, nut butter, or oats for a meal-style shake
• Store in a cool dry place and use within the container’s timeframe
• 25 servings per 2 lb tub—packable for travel or gym use

What nutritional value does each serving provide?

Each serving delivers a substantial 24 grams of protein and close to 9 grams of naturally occurring essential amino acids, alongside key minerals like calcium, magnesium and zinc. This combination supports regular dietary protein needs and helps you meet daily macronutrient goals when used as part of a balanced plan. Ingredients are formulated to prioritize protein density with a pleasant chocolate flavor.

• 24 g high-quality micellar casein protein per scoop
• Nearly 9 g naturally occurring essential amino acids
