OMMO Kids Metal Detector for Children — Adjustable 27.5"–37.8" (Azure) with Animated Puppy LCD, Lightweight & Foldable

OMMO Kids Metal Detector is a lightweight, adjustable treasure-hunting tool with an animated puppy LCD, designed for children aged 3–12 to discover coins and small objects up to about 4 inches deep.

This playful metal detector blends safe, child-focused design with simple controls so youngsters can explore beaches, parks, and backyards. It arrives ready to use with a 9V battery, kid-sized shovel and rake, and a foldable coil for travel. The stem extends from 27.5" to 37.8" to suit a wide range of heights, and the detector’s easy assembly helps build basic hands-on skills while encouraging outdoor play.

How does the animated LCD make detecting more fun for kids?

The detector’s LCD screen displays a puppy and bone animation that reacts to targets, turning a standard beep into a visual reward. This feature engages younger users and helps them learn when they’ve found something worth digging.

• Puppy-and-bone graphics designed for child appeal
• Visual confirmation complements audio signals
• Easy-to-read display simplifies target recognition

How deep and what types of items can this find?

When used correctly—sweeping slowly with the coil held parallel to the ground—the detector can locate coins and small metal objects buried to roughly 4 inches. It’s best for coins, bottle caps, small jewelry, and toy parts rather than large professional finds.

• Detects coins, small jewelry, and common metal debris
• Effective detection range up to approximately 4 inches in typical soil
• Best results with steady, side-to-side sweeps and slow walking

Is the OMMO metal detector easy for kids to use and carry?

Yes—at about 1.24 lb with a foldable coil and an adjustable single-buckle stem, it’s built to be held comfortably by young hands and stored for travel. Assembly takes only a few simple steps, making it ideal for family outings and beginner explorers.

• Lightweight 1.24 lb body suited for children
• Adjustable stem from 27.5" to 37.8" for different heights
• Foldable coil for compact storage and easy transport

What accessories are included and what ages is it for?

The kit includes a 9V battery, a plastic shovel and rake, and the detector itself—everything needed for a first hunt. OMMO recommends this model for children aged 3–12 years; parental supervision is advised for younger kids during digging and battery handling.

• Includes 9V battery, plastic shovel, and plastic rake
• Simple three-step installation designed for children
