Nutro Natural Choice Small Breed Dry Dog Food — Chicken & Rice, 13 lb, Real Chicken & Small Kibble

Nutro Natural Choice Small Breed Chicken & Rice is a 13 lb dry kibble formulated with real chicken as the first ingredient to support energy, digestion, and a healthy coat for adult small dogs.

If you own a small-breed adult dog and seek a straightforward, ingredient-driven dry food, this Nutro Natural Choice recipe offers recognizable components and focused nutrition. Made in USA facilities with ingredients sourced globally, the formula avoids chicken by-product meal, corn, wheat, and soy, and excludes artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives. The kibble’s crunchy texture is designed to suit smaller mouths while helping reduce plaque buildup. Below are answers to common buyer questions to help you decide if this formula fits your pet’s needs.

How does this formula meet the nutritional needs of small-breed dogs?

This recipe prioritizes protein density and balanced nutrients to support the faster metabolism and active lifestyles typical of many small breeds. Real chicken as the main ingredient provides lean animal protein for muscle maintenance, while added vitamins and minerals support overall vitality. The kibble size and texture are tailored for easier chewing and digestion in small mouths.

• Real chicken listed as the #1 ingredient for protein.
• Fortified with vitamins and minerals for daily nutritional balance.
• Smaller kibble diameter for comfortable chewing and digestion.
• Crunchy texture that helps reduce plaque buildup.

What ingredients are intentionally left out and why does that matter?

Nutro Natural Choice removes several common fillers and artificial additives that some owners prefer to avoid. Without chicken by-product meal, corn, wheat, soy, or artificial flavors and colors, the recipe focuses on more recognizable whole-food sources. This can help owners better understand what they’re feeding and may suit dogs with sensitivities to those excluded ingredients.

• No chicken by-product meal; uses real chicken instead.
• Free from corn, wheat, and soy to reduce common allergen carriers.
• No artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives added.
• Non-GMO ingredient policy for core components.

Will this food support skin, coat, digestion, and dental health?

The recipe includes nutrients targeted at common small-breed concerns: omega fatty acids and vitamins for skin and coat, prebiotic fibers and balanced ingredients for digestion, plus a crunchy kibble to help reduce plaque. These components work together to support visible coat condition and regular digestive function when fed as part of a complete diet.

• Omega-rich ingredients and vitamins to help maintain coat health.
• Digestive support from balanced fibers and ingredient selection.
• Crunchy kibble texture helps clean teeth and reduce plaque buildup.
• Formulated to support daily energy needs and muscle maintenance.

How should I transition my dog to this Nutro small-breed formula?

Switch gradually over 7–10 days to avoid digestive upset: mix increasing amounts of Nutro with the dog’s previous food each day. Monitor stool quality and appetite during the change; many dogs adapt smoothly to the smaller kibble size and flavor. If you notice prolonged digestive issues, consult your veterinarian.

• Start with 25% Nutro and 75% old food on day 1–2.
• Increase Nutro each day until fully transitioned by day 7–10.
• Watch for changes in stool, energy, and coat condition.
• Contact your vet for persistent digestive or appetite concerns.
