NutriSource Large Breed Puppy Dry Dog Food, Chicken & Rice 26 lb — Prebiotics & Omegas

This Chicken & Rice recipe from NutriSource is designed for growing large-breed puppies and meets AAFCO guidelines for all life stages. It combines a concentrated nutrient profile with prebiotics and probiotics to support intestinal health, plus balanced fatty acids and targeted supplements intended to help maintain healthy development. The 26 lb bag delivers a cost-effective supply of daily nutrition and is part of NutriSource’s grain-inclusive range, offering familiar ingredients and predictable digestion for pups that tolerate grains well.

How does this food support a large-breed puppy’s digestive health?

The formula includes prebiotics and probiotics that promote a balanced gut environment, which can help improve stool quality and nutrient absorption. Because the recipe is grain-inclusive, it provides fiber sources that aid regular digestion while being gentle for many puppies.

• Prebiotics and probiotics to support intestinal microflora
• Grain-inclusive carbohydrates for steady energy and fiber
• Concentrated nutrition to reduce overeating and digestive upset

What ingredients help support heart and overall development?

NutriSource fortifies this large-breed puppy diet with balanced Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids plus L-carnitine, taurine, choline chloride, and DL-methionine. These nutrients contribute to healthy tissue development and metabolic support as puppies grow into adult size.

• Omega-3 and Omega-6 for skin, coat, and cellular health
• L-carnitine and taurine for energy metabolism and heart-support roles
• Choline and methionine for healthy organ and muscle development

Why choose a grain-inclusive formula instead of grain-free?

Grain-inclusive diets can provide affordable, digestible energy and dietary fiber from familiar ingredients like rice. For many puppies, grain-inclusive recipes support steady growth and digestion without introducing unusual carbohydrate sources, and they are formulated to meet recognized nutritional standards.

• Rice and grains provide consistent, digestible energy
• Often lower-cost while still nutrient-dense for growth phases
• Formulated to AAFCO guidelines for all life stages, ensuring complete nutrition

How can I rotate this food or introduce variety safely?

NutriSource suggests a "Go Full Circle" approach: rotate proteins and formulas gradually to introduce new nutrients while maintaining gut balance. Transition over 7–10 days, mixing increasing amounts of the new food with the old to minimize digestive upset.

• Start with 25% new food and 75% current food, increase slowly
• Watch for stool consistency and appetite during transition
• Rotate proteins weekly or monthly to encourage dietary variety and interest
