Nutiva Organic Steam-Refined Coconut Oil, 128 fl oz — Neutral Flavor & High Smoke Point

Nutiva Organic Steam Refined Coconut Oil is a neutral-flavored, steam-extracted coconut oil designed for high-heat cooking and everyday multi-purpose use.

Made from organically grown, non-GMO Southeast Asian coconuts, this 128 fl oz container delivers a large supply of refined coconut oil processed via steam rather than solvents. The steam refining preserves nutrient-dense medium chain triglycerides (MCTs) and lauric acid while producing an oil with minimal aroma and taste—perfect when you want coconut’s functional benefits without a coconut flavor. Packaged in BPA-free, food-safe packaging, this oil is intended for kitchens and personal care alike, offering versatility across cooking, baking, and beauty routines.

Why choose steam refined coconut oil instead of virgin coconut oil?

Steam refining removes most of the natural coconut scent and flavor without using chemical solvents, yielding a more neutral oil suited for recipes where coconut taste is unwanted. It also creates a higher smoke point compared with many unrefined versions, making it safer for searing and frying at higher temperatures. The process retains key fatty acid profiles that provide the oil’s characteristic functional benefits.

• Neutral flavor and aroma—works in delicate dishes and sauces.
• Higher smoke point (~400°F) than virgin coconut oil—better for high-heat cooking.
• Steam extraction avoids hexane or harsh solvents—organic-approved method.
• Maintains MCTs and lauric acid percentages for nutritional functionality.

How does this oil perform in everyday cooking?

This refined coconut oil is suited for sautéing, frying, stir-fry, and baking when a neutral oil is preferred. Its higher smoke point reduces the risk of burning at common cooking temperatures, and the mild profile won’t compete with herbs, spices, or delicate flavors. Because it’s shelf-stable, it’s convenient to keep on hand for large-batch and frequent cooking.

• Use for sautéing, frying, and high-heat pan techniques up to 400°F.
• Neutral taste blends into sauces, soups, and baked goods without altering flavor.
• Large 128 fl oz size supports meal prepping and bulk cooking needs.
• Solid at cooler temperatures and liquid when warmed—easy to measure and use.

Can I use this coconut oil for skin and hair care?

Yes—refined coconut oil is commonly used as a simple, natural moisturizer and conditioning treatment. Its neutral scent makes it a good base for DIY scrubs, salves, and hair masks when mixed with essential oils or other natural ingredients. As with any topical product, patch-test first to check for personal sensitivity.

• Apply as a skin moisturizer or massage oil for smoothing and hydration.
• Mix with sugar and essential oils for an exfoliating body scrub.
• Use as an overnight hair mask to help condition dry ends.
• Works as a gentle makeup remover for eye and face products.
