Ninja Foodi Smart XL Indoor Grill & Air Fryer — Black/Silver FG551, 6‑in‑1 XL Capacity

The Ninja Foodi Smart XL 6‑in‑1 Indoor Grill & Air Fryer (FG551) is a countertop multi‑cook appliance that grills, air fries, roasts, bakes, broils and dehydrates while using a Smart Cook thermometer for targeted doneness. The FG551 combines cyclonic high‑heat grilling with air‑fry crisping in one extra‑large unit designed for family meals and apartment kitchens. With a dedicated Smart Cook System and dual‑sensor thermometer, it reduces guesswork when cooking proteins and expands what you can make indoors without an outdoor smoker or multiple devices.

How does the Smart Cook System make grilling easier?

The Smart Cook System uses a Foodi Smart Thermometer and preprogrammed protein presets to monitor internal temperature and target your chosen doneness level. That means fewer checks with a separate probe and more consistent results from rare to well done.

• Dual‑sensor thermometer for accurate internal readings.
• Four protein presets plus nine doneness levels.
• Automated alerts reduce overcooking risk and hands‑on time.

Can it replicate outdoor grill sear marks and flavor?

Yes — cyclonic grilling technology delivers concentrated 500°F airflow that sears meat and creates visible char marks similar to outdoor grills. The high heat and grill grate design produce caramelization and a grilled texture while keeping smoke to a minimum for indoor use.

• 500°F cyclonic air for even high‑heat searing.
• Grill grate designed for authentic char and juices.
• Virtually smoke‑free operation suitable for indoor spaces.

What can the XL capacity handle for family meals?

The FG551’s roomy grill grate accommodates large portions so you can prepare mains and sides in one session. It fits up to six steaks or 24 hot dogs, making it practical for family dinners, meal prep, or small gatherings without using multiple pans.

• Spacious cooking area for bulk batch cooking.
• Supports grilling and air‑frying of large quantities at once.
• Good fit for meal prepping, tailgating, and family portions.

How versatile is this unit beyond grilling?

Beyond the grill function, the Foodi Smart XL is a 6‑in‑1 countertop appliance that air crisps, roasts, bakes, broils and dehydrates. It replaces several single‑purpose tools and gives you crisp, roasted and dried results using one footprint on the counter.

• Air crisp for crunchy textures with less oil.
• Roast and bake for mains, veggies and desserts.
• Broil and dehydrate for finishing and snack‑making.

Who is this for? This Ninja Foodi Smart XL FG551 is aimed at cooks who want a heavy‑duty indoor grill with air‑fryer capability: families needing larger batches, apartment dwellers who can’t use outdoor grills, and anyone who wants one appliance to handle searing, crisping and multi‑mode cooking. It’s suited to home cooks who value precise temperature control and bulky capacity without assigning counter space to multiple devices.
