NETGEAR Orbi 770 WiFi 7 Mesh System 3-Pack — 8,200 sq ft Coverage, Tri-Band Backhaul

NETGEAR Orbi 770 Series is a WiFi 7 mesh kit — a router plus two satellites — designed to deliver up to 8,200 sq ft of fast, low-latency wireless for up to 100 connected devices.

Built for larger homes that outgrow single-point routers, the Orbi 770 uses tri-band WiFi 7 with a dedicated backhaul channel to keep multiple devices streaming, gaming, and video-calling without bottlenecks. The system works with existing cable or fiber modems, supports older WiFi 6 and WiFi 5 devices, and expands easily with additional satellites when coverage needs increase. Setup and daily management are handled in the Orbi app, while built-in security features and a trial of NETGEAR Armor help protect connected devices.

How does the Orbi 770 keep every device fast when the house is busy?

Tri-band WiFi 7 gives the Orbi 770 a dedicated channel between the router and satellites, reducing competition for bandwidth and preserving throughput for high-demand devices like 4K TVs and gaming laptops. Enhanced Backhaul and the latest WiFi advances minimize latency and improve simultaneous performance across many clients.

• Tri-band architecture with a full backhaul band for consistent satellite links
• Support for up to 100 devices on one mesh network
• Speeds up to 11 Gbps—optimized for streaming, gaming, and VR

Will the Orbi 770 work with my current modem and older devices?

Yes — the Orbi 770 is compatible with most cable and fiber ISPs and connects to your existing modem for whole-home WiFi. It is backward-compatible with WiFi 6 and WiFi 5 devices, so you won’t need to replace your phones, laptops, or smart home gadgets to benefit from improved coverage and speed.

• Connects to any ISP modem or gateway (cable or fiber)
• Supports legacy WiFi 6 and WiFi 5 devices without extra setup
• Ready for internet plans up to multi-gigabit (real-world throughput varies)

How easy is it to set up, secure, and expand this mesh system?

Setup is guided through the Orbi mobile app, which walks you through connecting the router, placing satellites, and creating guest access. NETGEAR includes Advanced Router Protection and automatic firmware updates; a 30-day NETGEAR Armor trial adds device-level security tools. Adding another satellite extends coverage quickly, ideal for multi-level homes or detached areas.

• Step-by-step Orbi app setup and remote network management
• Security features enabled out of the box, with optional Armor subscription
• Each additional satellite adds up to ~2,750 sq ft coverage

What performance can I expect for streaming, gaming, and smart home use?

With theoretical throughput up to 11 Gbps and a dedicated backhaul, the Orbi 770 is tuned for bandwidth-heavy tasks and low-latency gameplay. Real-world speeds depend on your ISP plan and client device capabilities, but the system is optimized to prioritize media streams and interactive apps when many devices are active.

• Optimized for 4K/8K streaming, cloud gaming, and video conferencing
• Low-latency connections for responsive online gaming and VR
• Mesh technology eliminates dead zones across large or multi-storey homes

Who is this for: The NETGEAR Orbi 770 Series (3-pack) is aimed at families and households with large footprints, multiple high-bandwidth users, or many smart devices — anyone who needs consistent, whole-home WiFi without juggling multiple extenders. It’s also a strong choice for users planning to upgrade to faster internet plans or who want an easy-to-manage, secure mesh that can expand over time.
