Nespresso Vertuo Inizio Espresso Capsules 30-Count — Medium Roast, Floral & Toasted Cereal Notes

Nespresso Vertuo Inizio is a 30-count pack of medium-roast Vertuo capsules blending Ethiopian and Kenyan Arabicas for a floral, cereal-forward 5 fl. oz. espresso experience.

This capsule selection highlights East African Arabicas crafted to preserve delicate floral aromatics alongside warming toasted cereal notes. The recipe combines naturally processed and washed Ethiopian beans with washed Kenyan coffee, using split roasting to balance brightness, body and crema for Vertuo machines. Capsules are compatible with Vertuo-line brewers and made from at least 85% recycled aluminum.

What flavor profile should I expect from Inizio?

You’ll taste a clear floral lift from the Ethiopian beans combined with a toasted cereal sweetness and measured acidity from Kenyan coffee. The medium split roast brings out body without overpowering the aromatics, and Vertuo extraction emphasizes a rich crema.

• Primary notes: floral brightness and toasted cereal
• Acidity: mild, balanced by Kenyan Arabica
• Body: medium, enhanced by the darker-roasted Kenyan portion
• Crema: pronounced thanks to Vertuo centrifugal brewing

How is Inizio roasted and blended to keep those floral notes?

Inizio uses split roasting to protect delicate Ethiopian aromatics while building structure with Kenyan beans. Ethiopian Arabicas receive a lighter, shorter roast to preserve their floral character, while Kenyan beans are roasted longer for added body and a touch of depth.

• Split roast: lighter for Ethiopian, darker for Kenyan
• Blend: naturally processed and washed Ethiopian plus washed Kenyan
• Outcome: floral aromatics with rounded mid-palate and body
• Designed to brew optimally in Vertuo machines

How should I brew or serve these Vertuo capsules?

Each capsule is portioned for a 5 fl. oz. serving, making it ideal for a slightly longer espresso cup. It performs well black, and it also becomes sweeter and creamier when mixed with milk—try a Reverso-style preparation to soften acidity and highlight the cereal and floral notes.

• Serving size: 5 fl. oz. per capsule
• Best black: clear aromatics and crema
• With milk: sweeter, smoother texture in Reverso-style drinks
• Compatibility: works only with Nespresso Vertuo machines

What sustainability steps does Nespresso take with these pods?

Nespresso’s Inizio capsules are made from at least 85% recycled aluminum and can be recycled indefinitely through local recycling programs or Nespresso’s capsule return systems. The brand also holds B Corp certification, reflecting verified social and environmental commitments across sourcing and operations.

• Capsules: minimum 85% recycled aluminum, infinitely recyclable
• Recycling: return and curbside options where available
• Corporate: Nespresso is a certified B Corporation
• Sourcing: focus on traceability and farmer support programs

Who is this for? Inizio is aimed at coffee drinkers who enjoy a nuanced medium roast with floral highlights and a gentle cereal sweetness, prefer a slightly longer 5 fl. oz. espresso, and use Nespresso Vertuo machines. It’s a good fit for those who value recyclable packaging and a responsibly managed supply chain, and for anyone who likes to experiment with milk-based and black espresso preparations.
