Murphy's Naturals Citronella Mosquito Repellent Candles, 9 oz Pack of 2 — Soy & Beeswax, 30 Hr Burn

These two 9-ounce candles combine natural essential oils with a clean-burning soy and beeswax base to offer an outdoor-friendly fragrance barrier. Designed for patios, decks, and other open-air gatherings, the candles focus on a pleasant citrus aroma while using plant-derived oils that insects dislike. The burn blend and wick are formulated to deliver an even, long-lasting flame so you get consistent scent output across each candle’s life.

How do these candles create a mosquito-repelling effect?

The candles release a citrus-forward blend of essential oil vapors—primarily citronella, lemongrass, peppermint, and rosemary—that mosquitoes tend to avoid. The steady, slow burn maintains a protective aromatic layer in the immediate area while providing ambient light for outdoor activities.

• Essential oil mix targets insect sensory cues rather than using synthetic chemicals
• Continuous fragrance dispersal while the candle is lit
• 30 hours of burn time per candle under recommended conditions

What makes the wax and burn quality different from standard candles?

Murphy’s uses a soy and beeswax blend to promote a cleaner, steadier burn with less soot compared with many paraffin-based candles. That formulation supports a longer, more even release of the active essential oils and helps the candle maintain its scent profile over many hours.

• Premium soy and beeswax for slow, even burning
• Optimized wick and wax ratio to reduce smoking and tunneling
• Consistent scent throw through the candle’s usable life

How should I use these candles safely and effectively outdoors?

Place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface and keep them away from drafts, flammable materials, and out of reach of children and pets. For the best effect, distribute candles around seating areas rather than relying on a single source; brief gusts can dissipate scent, so multiple candles help maintain coverage.

• Use in open-air settings like patios, porches, or camp sites
• Allow a few minutes after lighting for the scent to disperse
• Do not leave unattended; trim wick to 1/4 inch between uses

How long will one pack last during typical summer evenings?

Each 9 oz candle provides up to 30 hours of burn time, so a two-pack gives around 60 hours of use if burned under recommended conditions. Actual duration depends on burn sessions, wind, and whether you extinguish and relight the candles frequently.

• 30 hours per candle under steady conditions
• Two candles yield roughly 60 hours total usable burn time
• Shorter sessions or windy conditions may reduce effective life

Who is this for? These candles are suited for people who spend time outdoors and prefer plant-derived insect deterrence with a pleasant citrus aroma. They fit homeowners hosting backyard gatherings, campers wanting a natural option at the campsite, and anyone seeking a cleaner-burning candle alternative that blends fragrance and function without relying on synthetic repellents.
