Muc-Off Drivetrain Cleaner & Degreaser Spray 500ml — Biodegradable, Fast‑Acting Cleaner for Chains & Cassettes

Muc-Off Drivetrain Cleaner & Degreaser Spray is a fast-acting, biodegradable degreaser formulated to lift oil, wax and grime from bike chains, chainrings, cassettes and derailleurs.

Designed to work as either a pour-in solution for chain cleaning devices or a direct spray for spot cleaning, this 500ml formula dissolves stubborn drivetrain contaminants quickly while remaining safe on metal, plastic, rubber and seals. The included trigger spray makes targeted application simple, and its biodegradable contents reduce environmental impact compared with conventional solvent cleaners.

How quickly will it remove chain oil and wax?

The formulation is engineered to cut through oils and waxes rapidly, loosening buildup so it can be rinsed or wiped away in seconds. It performs as a heavy-duty degreaser when used in a chain cleaning machine and as an efficient spot cleaner when sprayed directly onto components.

• Breaks down oil and wax for fast removal
• Works in dedicated chain cleaners or by direct spray
• Rinse or wipe residue away after treatment

Is this safe to use on seals, plastics and painted surfaces?

This drivetrain cleaner is formulated to be non-aggressive toward common bike materials; it's compatible with metal, most plastics, rubber parts and seals when used as directed. Avoid prolonged contact with delicate finishes and always test an inconspicuous spot if you're concerned about older or custom paintwork.

• Biodegradable contents safe for seals and rubber
• Suitable for cassette, chainring and derailleur components
• Spot-test on fragile or unusual surfaces first

Can I use it with a chain cleaning device?

Yes — the product is formulated to be poured into chain cleaning machines for a no-fuss deep clean. Using it with a compatible device increases contact time and mechanical agitation, delivering a more thorough removal of ingrained grime than spraying alone.

• Pourable formula for chain cleaner tanks
• Improves cleaning when combined with mechanical brushes
• Reduces time spent scrubbing by hand

What application tools come with the bottle and how should I use them?

The 500ml bottle includes a trigger spray for direct application onto chains, cassettes and derailleurs. For a deep clean, either spray liberally and agitate with a brush before rinsing, or pour into a chain cleaning machine following the device instructions.

• Trigger spray for precise, controlled application
• Compatible with manual brushing or chain cleaning machines
• Rinse or towel-dry components after cleaning

Who is this for? Riders who want a reliable, easy-to-use drivetrain cleaner that balances strong degreasing performance with a biodegradable formula. It fits commuters, road cyclists, mountain bikers and workshop mechanics who need a straightforward product for routine maintenance or heavy-duty degreasing when preparing a bike for lubrication or inspection.
