Milwaukee M18 REDLITHIUM XC 4.0Ah Battery Pack — Extended Runtime, Cold-Weather Performance

The Milwaukee 48-11-1840 M18 REDLITHIUM XC 4.0Ah battery pack delivers extended runtime and durable cold-weather performance for over 40 M18 cordless tools.

This extended-capacity lithium-ion battery is engineered to give tradespeople and serious DIYers more work time per charge and a longer overall pack life compared with standard cells. With enhanced pack construction and onboard electronics, it balances power output and protection so tools run efficiently across demanding jobsite conditions, including temperatures below freezing.

How much more runtime and power does the M18 REDLITHIUM XC 4.0Ah provide?

The XC 4.0Ah cell increases usable run time and sustained power versus a typical standard battery. Expect up to roughly double the runtime on many applications, and improved power delivery for tasks that demand steady output.

• 4.0 amp-hours for longer single-charge operation
• Engineered pack construction for consistent power under load
• Designed to deliver about 20% more power in demanding conditions

Will this battery work with my current Milwaukee tools?

This pack is compatible across the Milwaukee M18 system, making it plug-and-play with more than 40 M18 cordless products. Swapping batteries between drills, impact drivers, saws and other M18 tools is straightforward, keeping workflows uninterrupted.

• Fits 40+ Milwaukee M18 cordless tools
• No adapters required for M18 equipment
• Ideal for mixed-tool jobsite kits and rapid tool changes

What protections and intelligence are built into the battery?

Onboard electronics help manage cell balance, prevent overloads and display charge status so you can plan work without surprises. The REDLINK intelligence distributes load across cells and provides safeguards that extend pack life and protect your tools.

• REDLINK Intelligence for balanced cell use and overload protection
• On-board fuel gauge shows remaining charge at a glance
• Electronics optimize performance and reduce premature wear

How does the battery handle cold weather and harsh jobsite conditions?

Built with robust materials and thermal management, this battery continues to operate in subzero temperatures where many packs struggle. It’s designed to run cooler under load and withstand environments below 0°F (-18°C), helping reduce downtime in winter conditions.

• Operates reliably in temperatures below 0°F / -18°C
• Durable outer casing resists jobsite wear
• Thermal design helps maintain performance and longevity

Who is this for? The Milwaukee 48-11-1840 M18 REDLITHIUM XC 4.0Ah battery is aimed at professionals and dedicated hobbyists who need longer run times, dependable cold-weather operation and cross-tool compatibility.
