Milwaukee M12 FUEL Stubby 3/8" Impact Wrench — Bare Tool, 550 ft-lbs Nut-Busting Torque

The Milwaukee M12 FUEL Stubby 3/8" Impact Wrench is a compact, high-torque cordless tool designed to deliver powerful nut-busting performance in tight spaces.

This bare-tool impact wrench from Milwaukee pairs the M12 FUEL motor platform with a stubby form factor to bring impressive torque where access is limited. It’s built for technicians, mechanics, and tradespeople who need a small, maneuverable wrench that still produces strong impact force without the bulk of larger cordless models. As a bare tool, it’s ideal for existing M12 users who want to expand their kit without buying another battery pack.

How much fastening power does the M12 FUEL Stubby produce?

The wrench is engineered to deliver high nut-busting torque despite its short length, giving reliably strong loosening and fastening performance on many automotive and industrial fasteners. Its power output lets you tackle seized or stubborn bolts that would be difficult with standard compact drivers.

• Nut-busting torque up to 550 ft-lbs for heavy-duty loosening tasks
• M12 FUEL brushless motor for efficient power-to-size ratio
• Compact hammering mechanism tuned for short impacts and high output

How does the stubby design help in tight work areas?

The reduced length lets you position the wrench where longer tools cannot reach, such as inside engine bays, HVAC units, or cramped electrical cabinets. You can rotate and angle the head more easily, reducing the time spent fighting for clearance and improving overall job speed.

• Short body fits between engine components and in confined panels
• Improved hand clearance for better leverage and control
• Lightweight balance helps maintain accuracy in awkward positions

What should I know about compatibility and battery options?

Sold as a bare tool, this impact wrench accepts Milwaukee M12 batteries, so it plugs into existing M12 systems for fast integration. Choosing the right M12 battery (higher Ah for longer runtime) will determine how many jobs you finish before recharging.

• Compatible with Milwaukee M12 battery platform (batteries sold separately)
• Works with M12 accessories and chargers for streamlined fleet management
• Bare-tool option lowers upfront cost for existing M12 owners

What controls and durability features are included?

The tool includes user-focused controls and a durable construction to withstand jobsite conditions. Ergonomic considerations and protective housing keep the wrench usable and reliable during repetitive work.

• Compact ergonomic grip reduces hand fatigue during extended use
• Robust housing protects internal components on busy jobsites
• Simple trigger and forward/reverse switch for quick operation

Who is this for? The Milwaukee M12 FUEL Stubby 3/8" Impact Wrench (bare tool) is aimed at professionals and serious DIYers who already use Milwaukee’s M12 ecosystem and need a short, powerful wrench for maintenance, automotive repair, HVAC, and machine service. If you require frequent work in tight clearances, want to expand an existing M12 kit, and value a balance of power and compactness without buying batteries, this model is a practical addition to your toolset.
