Milwaukee M12 Fuel 1/4" Cordless Hex Impact Driver 3453-20 — Bare Tool, 1,500 in-lbs, 5" Compact Brushless

The Milwaukee 3453-20 M12 Fuel 1/4" Cordless Hex Impact Driver is a subcompact, brushless impact driver that delivers up to 1,500 in-lbs of torque in a compact 5" body for access in tight spaces.

Designed for tradespeople who need high power in a minimal footprint, the Milwaukee 3453-20 combines a brushless motor with a four-mode drive control and three onboard LEDs to speed driving tasks while improving visibility. This listing is for the bare tool only, giving you a lightweight, portable option to add to an existing M12 battery system.

How fast and powerful is this compact impact driver?

The brushless motor produces up to 1,500 in-lbs of torque and delivers up to 3,600 RPM in its highest mode, making it one of the most capable subcompact drivers for heavy fastening. Speed and torque are balanced across selectable modes to match the task.

• Maximum torque: up to 1,500 in-lbs
• Top speed: up to 3,600 RPM (Mode 3)
• Four drive modes including a self-tapping screw setting
• Brushless motor for improved runtime and durability

How does its size and weight help on the jobsite?

At just 5" long and about 2 lbs without battery, the 3453-20 is engineered for tight access and all‑day carry. The short length improves reach inside cabinets, trusses, and machine assemblies while the low weight reduces fatigue on tool belts and ladders.

• Overall length: 5" (most compact in class)
• Lightweight body: ~2 lbs (bare tool)
• Compact height: 7.6" with M12 CP 2.0 Ah battery for low-profile work
• Easy one-handed operation in confined spaces

Will I be able to see work surfaces clearly when driving fasteners?

Yes — the integrated three-LED array provides broad, shadow-free illumination at the bit so you can work in dim areas without an external light. The lights stay active during trigger use, improving accuracy when aligning fasteners in poor light.

• Three LEDs positioned for even coverage around the bit
• Reduces need for a separate work light
• Improves precision in cabinets, crawlspaces, and vehicles

What control options and fastening modes are available?

Four-mode drive control lets you dial in speed and impact intensity for delicate trim work or aggressive fastening. A dedicated self-tapping screw mode helps prevent overdriving and ensures consistent results with fasteners into metal.

• Mode 1–3 for progressive speed and power selection
• Dedicated self-tapping screw setting for sheet-metal applications
• Quarter-inch hex quick-change chuck for fast bit swaps

Who is this for? The Milwaukee 3453-20 is ideal for electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs, cabinetmakers, and maintenance pros who need maximum torque from a subcompact tool. If you already own M12 batteries and want a high‑performance, easy-to-carry impact driver for tight spaces and repetitive fastening, this bare-tool model adds power and visibility without extra bulk.
