Ray‑Ban Meta Wayfarer (Gen 1) are AI-enabled smart glasses that combine classic Wayfarer styling with a 12 MP POV camera, open‑ear audio, Bluetooth calling, and Transitions® clear lenses for everyday wearable tech.

These Ray‑Ban Meta frames pair timeless Wayfarer aesthetics with on‑device Meta AI assistance and hands‑free media capture so you can record, listen, call, and get real‑time context without pulling out your phone. Built for both men and women, the large matte black frame offers a slim, comfortable fit and lenses that adapt to lighting. The glasses aim to make everyday tasks—capturing moments, translating speech, or asking quick questions—more natural and immediate.

How do these glasses capture photos and video?

The Ray‑Ban Meta Wayfarer has an ultra‑wide 12 MP POV camera plus a five‑microphone array to record clear audio along with stabilized footage. You can snap photos or record video hands‑free, livestream to social platforms, or switch between phone and eyewear cameras during calls.

• 12 MP ultra‑wide camera for point‑of‑view photos and clips.
• Five‑mic system improves voice and ambient sound capture.
• Live streaming support for Facebook and Instagram.
• Seamless flip to your phone camera during video calls.

What audio and call features do the glasses offer?

Open‑ear speakers deliver sound without fully blocking ambient noise, letting you listen to music or take calls while staying aware of your surroundings. Bluetooth connectivity handles calls, messages, and meetings, with on‑device controls to answer or mute.

• Discreet open‑ear audio for music and notifications.
• Bluetooth for hands‑free calls and texts.
• On‑device controls for quick call handling and volume.
• Designed to preserve awareness of nearby sounds and conversations.

How does Meta AI and translation work on the glasses?

Integrated Meta AI analyzes visible scenes and supplies context‑aware suggestions, helping with things like identifying objects or answering questions about what you’re looking at. Built‑in live translation streams spoken translations between several languages in real time so you can communicate smoothly without a phone connection.

• Meta AI provides contextual answers based on what the camera sees.
• Real‑time translation among major languages—no constant Wi‑Fi required.
• Voice activation and privacy toggles let you control when AI listens.
• Useful for travel, quick lookups, and on‑the‑go tasks.

What privacy and control options are included?

Ray‑Ban Meta places user control at the forefront with settings to enable or disable voice activation, manage camera access, and adjust privacy preferences. Visual indicators and app controls help you monitor when features are active so you decide what data is captured and shared.

• Toggle voice commands on or off at any time.
• Settings to manage camera and mic permissions through the companion app.
• Visual cues indicate active recording or listening states.
• Local controls for privacy-first operation.
