Melissa & Doug Slice & Bake Wooden Cookie Play Set — Colorful Toppings, 12 Sliceable Cookies & Accessories

The Melissa & Doug Slice & Bake Wooden Cookie Play Set is a complete pretend-baking kit with sliceable wooden cookies, attachable frosting pieces, and child-safe kitchen accessories for imaginative role play.

This colorful play set gives preschoolers everything they need to pretend-make, slice, decorate, and serve cookies. Designed for open-ended, hands-on play, the set combines tactile wood pieces with bright, self-stick toppings so young chefs can practice fine motor skills, counting, and simple storytelling. The components tuck neatly into a durable dough storage tube for easy cleanup and pretend bakery organization.

What comes in the cookie baking kit?

The collection is built to mimic a real bake shop but in sturdy wooden form. It includes multiple sliceable cookies, a variety of frosting and sprinkle options, and basic serving tools so kids can go through the full make-and-serve routine.

• 12 wooden, sliceable play cookies that separate and rejoin for pretend cutting
• 18 colorful frosting pieces and sprinkles with self-stick tabs for easy decorating
• Wooden knife, spatula, cookie sheet, oven mitt, and a storage dough tube

How does this set support learning and motor skills?

Play-baking activities encourage repeated small movements and decision-making that strengthen hand-eye coordination and dexterity. As children slice cookies, choose toppings, and load the cookie sheet, they practice counting, color recognition, and sequencing through playful scenarios.

• Slice-and-rejoin cookie pieces improve bilateral coordination and scissor-like motion
• Choosing and attaching toppings builds pincer grasp and fine-motor control
• Role-play menus and orders promote early numeracy and social language

Is this play set safe and easy for preschoolers to use?

Pieces are made of durable wood and designed with child-friendly shapes and finishes. The toppings use simple self-adhesive tabs, avoiding small loose parts that could be misleading; adult supervision is still recommended for children under the manufacturer’s suggested age.

• Sturdy wooden construction resists rough play and repeated use
• Rounded edges and smooth paint reduce pinch and scrape risks
• Storage tube keeps pieces contained to minimize loss and mess

How can this set connect to other pretend-play toys?

The cookie kit pairs naturally with play kitchens, counters, and food sets to expand imaginative scenarios. Combining it with other role-play stations creates extended storylines—running a bakery, selling treats, or hosting tea parties—which lengthens engagement and cooperative play.

• Works with Melissa & Doug play kitchens and counters for full bakery setups
• Mixes with other play food to stage cafes, markets, or party scenes
• Great prop for storytelling, dramatic play, and small-group sharing

Who is this for? The Slice & Bake Wooden Cookie Play Set is aimed at preschoolers ages 3 and older who enjoy role play, hands-on crafting, and social games. It’s a suitable gift for birthdays, classroom dramatic-play corners, and families wanting screen-free activities that promote motor skill development and cooperative storytelling. The durable materials and tidy storage make it a practical choice for repeated everyday play.
