Meguiar's D101 All Purpose Cleaner Concentrate — 1 Gal, High-Foaming Multi‑Surface

Meguiar's D101 Detailer All Purpose Cleaner (1 gal) is a concentrated, foaming cleaner designed to lift dirt from carpets, upholstery, vinyl and leather, providing a versatile solution for both interior and exterior detailing.

Meguiar's D101 is a professional-grade all-purpose cleaner formulated to deliver strong foaming action while remaining gentle on many automotive surfaces. Supplied as a concentrate in a one-gallon size, D101 is intended for dilution so you can tailor strength for light maintenance or deeper cleaning. Its blend includes fabric softeners and optical brighteners to refresh color and texture without harsh abrasion, making it useful for routine maintenance and more thorough reconditioning tasks.

How does D101 remove embedded dirt without harming surfaces?

D101 uses advanced foaming to lift soil away from fibers and surfaces, allowing dirt to be rinsed or blotted away rather than scrubbed in. The formula is balanced to provide cleaning power without overly aggressive ingredients that can dry or strip delicate materials.

• High-foaming action lifts soil from carpet and upholstery fibers.
• Concentrate format lets you dilute for gentle or stronger cleaning.
• Safe for many interiors when used as directed; avoids harsh abrasives.

What surfaces can I safely clean with Meguiar's D101?

D101 is formulated for multi-surface use across vehicle interiors and some exterior trim. It is suitable for carpet, cloth upholstery, vinyl, and many leather finishes when used following product dilution and spot-testing recommendations.

• Carpet and floor mats—removes stains and ground-in grit.
• Cloth and synthetic upholstery—cleans without saturating padding when applied correctly.
• Vinyl trim and dashboards—restores appearance without leaving heavy residues.
• Leather—usable on many finishes; test an inconspicuous area first and avoid over-wetting.

How should I dilute and apply D101 for best results?

Because D101 is a concentrate, dilution controls cleaning strength and economy. Light cleaning needs a higher water ratio; stubborn stains require a stronger mix and brief dwell time, followed by agitation and extraction or wiping to remove residue.

• Start with manufacturer dilution guidelines or a mild ratio for general maintenance.
• Apply with a sprayer, brush, or applicator pad; allow foam to work briefly.
• Agitate with a soft brush on fabric, then extract or blot with clean microfiber towels.
• Rinse or wipe away residues to avoid sticky buildup; allow surfaces to dry fully.

Will D101 change the look or feel of interior fabrics?

D101 contains fabric softeners and optical brighteners to help restore vibrancy and soften fibers after cleaning, improving the look and hand of textiles. Results depend on surface condition and cleaning technique; repeated or combined treatments can further enhance appearance.

• Optical brighteners help revive faded-looking fabrics.
• Fabric softeners improve texture without leaving a heavy film when used properly.
• Follow with appropriate protectants for long-term care of cleaned surfaces.

Who is this for: Meguiar's D101 is aimed at car owners, professional detailers, and DIY enthusiasts who need a single, concentrated cleaner to handle a wide range of interior and light exterior cleaning tasks. If you want a customizable cleaner that balances foaming power, surface safety, and cosmetic enhancement in a gallon supply, D101 is designed to meet those needs—just always follow dilution instructions and spot-test delicate materials before full application.
