MECOOL Cat Scratching Post 22-inch Kitten Scratcher — Beige Natural Sisal, Weighted Base & Hanging Ball

MECOOL's 22-inch Premium Basics Cat Scratching Post is a compact, natural-sisal scratcher with a weighted base and hanging ball designed for kittens and smaller cats.

This small-but-sturdy post gives young cats a dedicated place to sharpen claws, stretch, and play while protecting furniture and textiles. Built from 100% natural sisal hemp wrapped around a durable post and mounted to a weighted MDF base, the unit balances stability with a lightweight footprint that fits easily beside beds, windows, or in living rooms. Neutral beige tones blend into most home decor, and the included hanging toy encourages batting and active engagement.

How does this scratching post protect my furniture?

The MECOOL post diverts scratching behavior to a purpose-built surface made of real sisal, a fiber cats instinctively prefer. The textured rope withstands repeated clawing and helps satisfy natural scratching needs so couches, curtains, and carpets are less likely to be targeted.

• 100% natural sisal hemp wrap attracts cats to scratch.
• Weighted MDF base reduces tipping and keeps the post in place.
• Compact 11.8 x 11.8-inch footprint works near common furniture areas.
• Neutral beige color reduces visual clutter in living spaces.

Is this scratching post easy to assemble and move around the house?

Yes — the post assembles quickly with the included screws and tools so it’s ready for use within minutes. Its compact size makes it simple to relocate, ideal for testing where your cat prefers to scratch or to place near favorite nap spots and windows.

• All screws and assembly tools are included in the package.
• Simple screw-in construction — no specialized tools required.
• Lightweight enough to move, yet stable once secured.
• Small footprint fits in bedrooms, offices, or balconies (indoor use recommended).

Will my kitten enjoy the hanging ball and plush accents?

The hanging ball and plush touches are designed to encourage batting and play, extending the product’s appeal beyond scratching alone. Interactive elements help stimulate young cats mentally and physically, helping them learn to play in appropriate places.

• Hanging toy invites pawing and swatting for active play sessions.
• Plush surfaces add soft areas for brief rests or kneading.
• Combination of textures keeps curious kittens engaged longer.
• Helps channel energy into constructive activity rather than household items.

How durable and pet-safe is the MECOOL scratching post?

Constructed with natural sisal wrapped around a firm post and mounted to a weighted MDF base, the design emphasizes long-lasting use and tip resistance. Materials are commonly used in cat furniture and crafted to withstand frequent clawing by kittens and smaller adult cats.

• Natural sisal fibers are tough and cat-appealing for regular scratching.
• Weighted base and stable construction minimize wobble or tipping.
• Plush coverings on the base/top provide comfortable contact points.
• Manufactured for indoor use in neutral colors to fit home interiors.
