Matugajp 12 Gauge 12/2 AWG 2-Conductor Extension Cable 20ft — Tinned Copper, Flame‑Retardant PVC Jacket

Matugajp 12 Gauge 12/2 AWG 2-conductor extension cable is a 20-foot, tinned-oxygen-free stranded copper electrical wire with a durable flame-retardant PVC jacket for low-voltage and DC applications up to 300V.

This heavy-duty 12AWG 12/2 cable from Matugajp combines high-purity, tinned stranded copper conductors and a robust, weather-resistant PVC jacket to deliver reliable performance for automotive, marine, outdoor lighting, battery systems and household low-voltage wiring. Rated for up to 33A and tested to UL2464 standards, the cable balances flexibility, corrosion resistance and heat tolerance for both indoor and outdoor use.

How does this 12/2 AWG cable perform in outdoor or harsh environments?

The outer PVC jacket is engineered for prolonged sun exposure, water resistance and abrasion protection, making the cable suitable for garden lighting, path lights and exposed installations. The jacket is flame-retardant (VW-1 and FT1) and rated for direct burial, increasing installation options without sacrificing safety.

• Durable PVC resists UV, moisture and corrosive conditions
• Flame retardant ratings: VW-1 and FT1
• Rated for direct burial and outdoor exposure
• Temperature range: -20°C to 80°C for seasonal extremes

Can I use this cable for low-voltage DC systems like solar, batteries or LED lighting?

Yes — the Matugajp 12/2 cable supports DC voltages from 5V up to 300V and carries a maximum continuous current of 33A, suitable for many low-voltage applications. The tinned, oxygen-free copper strands keep resistance low and simplify soldering and connections for power runs and lighting circuits.

• Voltage compatibility: 5V–300V DC and AC use cases
• Max continuous current: 33A for heavy loads
• Tinned stranded copper (65 strands) for low impedance
• Easy to solder and crumble-free when terminating

What makes the conductor material and construction better than cheaper alternatives?

Matugajp uses high-purity, oxygen-free stranded copper plated with tin rather than copper-clad aluminum (CCA). This improves conductivity, reduces resistance and enhances mechanical durability at connection points, producing more consistent performance under load and during repeated handling.

• 12 AWG conductor diameter (≈3.3 mm) for robust current capacity
• 65 x 0.254 mm tinned strands for flexibility and corrosion protection
• Lower resistance and improved solderability vs. CCA
• Better long-term reliability for outdoor and automotive environments

How do I install and terminate this 12/2 wire safely?

Strip the jacket to expose the black and red conductors, twist and tin the stranded ends for a solid solder or crimp connection, and use heat-shrink tubing or rated connectors for weatherproofing. Follow local electrical codes and ensure the 33A rating and voltage limits match your device requirements.

• Strip jacket carefully to avoid nicking strands
• Tinning strands or using crimp terminals for secure joins
• Protect terminations with heat-shrink or rated connectors outdoors
• Verify load does not exceed 33A and matches voltage range
