Master Lock ProSeries 4-Digit Combination Padlock — Brass Shrouded Body, Boron-Carbide Shackle, Resettable 10,000-Code

Master Lock 1177D ProSeries is a resettable 4-digit brass combination padlock designed for rugged outdoor and commercial security without needing a key.

Built to withstand heavy use, the 1177D combines a shrouded solid brass body, an octagonal boron-carbide shackle, and weather-sealing features to protect internal parts from dust, dirt, and moisture. Its large ergonomic dials let workers operate the lock while wearing gloves or in low light, and the resettable 10,000-code combination gives flexible access control for shared areas. This description explains how the lock performs, what features matter for different use cases, and who benefits most from choosing this model.

How does this padlock resist cutting and forced entry?

The 1177D uses an octagonal boron-carbide shackle that is engineered to be significantly harder to cut than standard hardened shackles. A deadlocking mechanism helps prevent prying, shimming, and rapid attack methods, while the shrouded body reduces shackle exposure to tools.

• Octagonal boron-carbide shackle: twice the cut resistance of typical hardened shackles.
• Deadlocking latch to deter pry and shim attacks.
• Shrouded body design reduces leverage and access for bolt cutters.

Can I use this lock outdoors and in harsh environments?

Yes — the heavy solid brass body offers corrosion resistance suited for outdoor and industrial settings. The lock includes a dial dust cover and shackle seals that help keep grit and moisture away from internal components, maintaining reliability over time.

• 2-1/4 in. wide solid brass body for corrosion resistance.
• Dial dust cover and shackle seals protect internal parts from debris.
• Designed for gates, fences, sheds, job boxes, and storage units.

How easy is it to set or change the combination?

Changing the 4-digit code is straightforward and does not require a special reset tool, making it convenient for shared or changing-access situations. With 10,000 possible combinations you can assign unique codes or rotate them regularly for better access control.

• Resettable 4-digit combination gives 10,000 code possibilities.
• No special reset tool needed — user-resettable on the lock itself.
• Large ergonomic dials support quick operation even with gloves on.

What size and handling features matter for everyday use?

The 1177D is compact yet practical: a 2-1/4 inch wide body with a 1-1/16 inch tall, 3/8 inch diameter shackle balances portability and strength. The oversized dials are designed for tactile feedback, helpful when working in low light or while wearing protective gear.

• Compact 2-1/4 in. shrouded brass body fits standard hasps and latches.
• Shackle dimensions: 1-1/16 in. tall, 3/8 in. diameter for robust engagement.
• Large dials for easy use with gloves, low light, or darkness.

Who is this for? The Master Lock 1177D ProSeries is aimed at contractors, facility managers, property owners, and anyone who needs a reliable, resettable combination lock for commercial or outdoor applications. It suits situations where keys are impractical, access must be shared or changed frequently, and corrosion resistance plus cut resistance are priorities. If you need a durable lock that balances ease of use with enhanced physical protection, the 1177D is a practical choice.
