LG Magic Remote MR20GA Replacement Remote for 2018–2020 LG TVs — Voice Control, Netflix & Prime Hot Keys

The LG Magic Remote MR20GA (AKB75855501) is a replacement remote that restores voice control, Netflix and Prime Video quick-access buttons, and point-and-click navigation for compatible LG Smart TVs from 2018–2020.

If your LG TV stopped responding to its original remote or you want the convenience of dedicated streaming hot keys plus voice assistant support, this Magic Remote replicates the familiar wheel-pointer design and smart functions of the factory controller. It pairs wirelessly with supported LG OLED, NanoCell, and UHD models and uses two AA batteries (not included) for power. Before ordering, check your TV’s model year: this MR20GA model is built to work with TVs manufactured in 2018, 2019, and 2020 and will not function with 2021 or newer TVs.

Will this remote work with my LG TV model?

Compatibility depends on the TV’s model family and production year. The MR20GA (AKB75855501) was designed for many LG 2018–2020 ranges including GX, CX, BX, ZX, WX and the Nano series; it will not pair with TVs made from 2021 onward.

• Compatible families: ZX, WX, GX, CX, BX, NANO99, NANO97, NANO91, NANO90, NANO85, NANO81, NANO80, UN85, UN73.
• Works with LG TVs produced in 2018, 2019, and 2020 only.
• Does not support 2021+ LG TV models; verify your TV’s manufacturing year beforehand.

How do I pair the MR20GA with my TV?

Pairing is simple and usually automatic. Power on your TV, point the Magic Remote at the screen and press the central wheel/OK button; an on-screen prompt confirms successful connection. If the remote doesn’t pair immediately, power cycle the TV and try the same steps again.

• Turn on TV, aim remote at screen, press the Wheel (OK) button.
• Watch for the on-screen pairing confirmation message.
• If pairing fails, turn TV off and on and repeat; batteries must be installed.

What features and shortcuts does this replacement remote offer?

The MR20GA includes a pointer/wheel for smooth cursor navigation, voice input that works with Google Assistant and Alexa integrations available on your TV, plus dedicated Netflix and Prime Video buttons for quick access to streaming. It matches the layout and tactile feel of the original remote so switching is intuitive.

• Wheel-pointer navigation for faster menu control and apps.
• Dedicated Netflix and Prime Video hot keys for one-press access.
• Voice support compatible with Google Assistant and Alexa-enabled TV features.
• Requires two AA batteries (not included) for operation.

What should I check before buying a replacement remote?

Verify the remote model number (MR20GA / AKB75855501) matches the original controller and confirm your TV’s manufacture year falls within the supported range. If in doubt, consult your TV’s manual or provide your TV model code to seller support for compatibility confirmation.

• Confirm original remote model: MR20GA or AKB75855501.
• Check TV manufacture year: must be 2018, 2019, or 2020.
• Have your TV model code ready to verify compatibility with seller assistance.
