LEISURE TIME Spa Down spa pH reducer 2.5 lb — fast-dissolving granular formula for clearer, scale-free water

LEISURE TIME Spa Down is a fast-dissolving sodium bisulfate granular pH reducer designed to lower pH and total alkalinity for clearer, scale-free spa water.

Maintaining balanced water chemistry is essential for a clean, comfortable hot tub. LEISURE TIME Spa Down (22338A) comes in a convenient 2.5 lb package and is formulated to quickly correct high pH and total alkalinity that can cause cloudy water, scale buildup, and reduce sanitizer performance. This product works with all common sanitizer systems—chlorine, bromine, and biguanide—so it integrates easily into existing maintenance routines.

How quickly will Spa Down lower my spa's pH?

Spa Down dissolves rapidly and begins adjusting pH as soon as it is added to the water. The speed depends on your current water chemistry and circulation, but you’ll often see measurable change within 30–60 minutes after application when the pump is running.

• Fast-dissolving granular formula for quick action
• Circulate water for at least 30 minutes after adding
• Test pH and alkalinity before and after dosing

Will Spa Down work with my sanitizer system?

Yes—LEISURE TIME Spa Down is compatible with all standard sanitizers including chlorine, bromine, and biguanide systems. It is strictly a pH and total alkalinity reducer; it does not replace the need for regular sanitizer dosing.

• Safe for use alongside chlorine and bromine sanitizers
• Does not interfere with biguanide-compatible maintenance programs
• Use according to sanitizer manufacturer guidance for best results

How do I use Spa Down safely and effectively?

Add Spa Down directly to the spa water while the pump is running to ensure even dispersion. Measure current pH and total alkalinity, dose incrementally, and retest after circulation to avoid overcorrection.

• Measure pH and alkalinity before dosing
• Pour product into circulating water, avoid adding near bathers
• Retest after 30–60 minutes and adjust dose if needed

What problems does lowering pH solve in a hot tub?

Reducing high pH and alkalinity helps prevent scale and cloudy water while allowing sanitizers to perform efficiently. Proper pH balance protects spa surfaces and equipment from deposits and prolongs the life of your water treatment program.

• Reduces the risk of scale on heaters and jets
• Helps restore sanitizer effectiveness for clear water
• Prevents cloudiness caused by imbalanced chemistry
