LeapFrog Yum-2-3 Toaster kids' pretend play toaster — toddler learning toy, pop-up action & counting songs (bright)

This bright, child-sized toaster brings hands-on learning into everyday play. Designed for toddlers 12 months and up, the Yum-2-3 combines pop-up action, music and three counting food buttons to introduce numbers, opposites and color words. The set includes nine removable pieces—two toast slices, a jelly jar and lid, a fried egg, bacon strip, plate, knife and fork—so little ones can practice fine motor skills, role-play kitchen routines and explore cause-and-effect with every push and pop.

How does the Yum-2-3 Toaster help my child learn early numbers and colors?

The toaster features three food buttons that reinforce counting and color recognition through short songs and phrases. When children press the buttons, they hear number words and color labels alongside playful sounds, making repetition feel like a game rather than a lesson.

• Three food buttons teach counting (one, two, three) and color words.
• Audio prompts and music encourage repetition and retention.
• Hands-on pressing supports learning by doing.

What kind of pretend-play pieces come with the set and why do they matter?

The Yum-2-3 Toaster comes with nine realistic, toddler-safe play pieces that expand imaginative scenarios and build fine motor control. Using the utensils and food pieces, children practice stacking, feeding pretend friends and following simple sequences—skills useful for later social and self-help tasks.

• Includes two bread slices, jelly jar and lid, egg, bacon, plate, knife and fork.
• Pieces are sized for small hands to grasp and manipulate.
• Removable parts invite role-play, turn-taking, and vocabulary practice.

How does the toaster’s pop-up and dial feature support cause-and-effect learning?

The physical action of pushing down the toast and watching it pop up teaches basic cause-and-effect: push, wait, and get a result. The adjustable dial also introduces opposites like up/down and more/less, giving toddlers vocabulary tied to physical movement.

• Pop-up lever demonstrates immediate feedback from actions.
• Toast dial speaks about opposites and settings to build concepts.
• Interactive sounds reward exploratory play and persistence.

Does the toy need batteries and is it ready to use out of the box?

The Yum-2-3 Toaster requires two AAA batteries for full functionality; demo batteries are included for sample use. For sustained play, replace the included batteries with fresh ones to ensure reliable sound and movement.

• Requires 2 AAA batteries—demo batteries included in packaging.
• New batteries recommended for regular use and optimal volume.
• Battery compartment secured for child safety (screw closure).
