LeapFrog Strum and Count Wooden Guitar Toddler Toy — Light-Up Learning Guitar, FSC-Certified (18+ months)

The LeapFrog Strum and Count Wooden Guitar is a brightly lit, FSC-certified wooden toy that teaches colors, numbers and simple vocabulary through strumming, buttons and playful sounds.

This interactive wooden guitar blends tactile play with gentle learning: eight colorful fret keys map to numbers and notes, a light-up neck creates visual feedback, and multiple sound modes let toddlers switch between acoustic and electric guitar tones or barnyard animal noises. A friendly squirrel lever activates songs and games, and pluckable strings encourage rhythm and creativity. Designed for children 18 months and older, the guitar runs on three AA batteries (included for demo only; replace for regular use) and uses wood from responsibly managed forests.

How does this toy teach colors and counting?

The guitar uses eight fret keys that each correspond to a color and number, creating an approachable first step into sequencing and color recognition. When a child presses a fret, the neck lights and the toy responds with a sound or spoken prompt that reinforces the concept immediately.

• Eight colored fret buttons link numbers to hues for visual learning
• Light-up neck provides immediate feedback to button presses
• Spoken prompts and sounds reinforce counting and color names

What play modes and sounds are available for imaginative jam sessions?

Switch between three distinct sound banks—acoustic guitar, electric guitar and barnyard animals—to vary the play experience and spark different kinds of pretend play. Strumming finishes songs and encourages cause-and-effect understanding while the squirrel tail triggers short games and musical activities.

• Acoustic and electric guitar tones let kids explore musical styles
• Barnyard animal sounds add playful role-play options
• Strummable strings let children finish songs and create rhythms

Is the guitar sturdy and safe for toddlers?

Constructed from 100% FSC-certified wood, the guitar is made with sustainability and durability in mind so it stands up to toddler play. The size, rounded edges and age guidance (18+ months) make it suitable for young children learning motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

• FSC-certified wood from well-managed forests for reliable construction
• Rounded design and toddler-sized proportions reduce handling difficulty
• Battery compartment requires a tool to open, enhancing safety

How do batteries and maintenance work?

The toy requires three AA batteries to operate; LeapFrog includes demo batteries but recommends fresh batteries for ongoing play. Regular surface cleaning and keeping the toy dry will help preserve the wood finish and electronics.

• Requires 3 AA batteries; demo batteries included only
• Replace batteries with new ones for consistent performance
• Wipe with a damp cloth and avoid soaking to protect wood and electronics
