Kyser Quick-Change Capo for 6-String Acoustic Guitars, Black KG6BA — One-Handed, Aluminum with Steel Spring

The Kyser Quick-Change KG6BA is a one-handed, spring-loaded capo engineered to clamp quickly and accurately on 6-string acoustic guitars for reliable intonation and fast key changes.

This compact capo has been a favorite of touring musicians, teachers and hobbyists for decades because it combines durable materials, simple operation and a design that parks on the headstock when not in use. Built from strong, lightweight aluminum with a steel spring, the KG6BA is designed to press evenly across the fretboard without muting strings or throwing tuning off balance. It’s made in the USA and backed by Kyser’s lifetime guarantee, which is why many players refer to it as the go-to capo for performance and practice.

How does the Quick-Change capo make changing keys faster?

With a single-handed squeeze you can shift the KG6BA on or off the neck, letting you reposition the capo between songs or during a tune in seconds. The spring mechanism provides consistent pressure so you don’t have to retune after moving it. Its simple motion is especially helpful in live settings where speed and reliability matter.

• One-handed operation—squeeze and release to engage or remove
• Even pressure from steel spring prevents buzz and dead strings
• Quick repositioning between songs without tuning shifts

Will this capo fit my 6-string acoustic and protect my guitar’s finish?

The KG6BA is sized specifically for 6-string acoustic guitars and its cushioned bar contacts the fretboard cleanly to minimize wear. The aluminum body is strong yet light, so it won’t add unnecessary weight to the headstock when parked. It is designed to sit securely without scratching finishes when used properly.

• Designed for standard 6-string acoustic fretboards
• Padded contact bar cushions strings and fretboard
• Parks on headstock to keep it handy and safe between uses

How durable is the KG6BA and what does the warranty cover?

Constructed from robust aluminum with a steel spring, this capo is built to last through regular practice and touring schedules. Kyser manufactures it in the USA and offers a lifetime guarantee, covering manufacturing defects and long-term reliability concerns. Routine cleaning and avoiding excessive force will help maintain peak performance.

• Lightweight, corrosion-resistant aluminum body
• Heavy-duty steel spring for consistent clamping force
• Lifetime guarantee from Kyser against defects

Does it affect tone or intonation when clamped on the neck?

When positioned correctly it presses evenly across the strings to preserve tone and intonation, avoiding the sharp or flat pitch issues common with uneven capos. Its spring tension is tuned to hold strings firmly without overtightening. Players report stable tuning and natural resonance once the capo is in place.

• Even clamp distribution reduces fret buzz
• Balanced pressure keeps strings in tune
• Minimal impact on natural resonance and sustain

Who is this for? The Kyser Quick-Change KG6BA is ideal for acoustic guitarists who need a dependable, fast-operating capo—whether you’re gigging, teaching, recording or practicing at home. It suits beginners who want a no-fuss solution, intermediate players seeking durability and pros who rely on quick key changes. If you prefer lightweight hardware that stashes easily on the headstock and comes with a lifetime warranty, the KG6BA is built to meet those expectations.
