kimoe Dried Mealworms 5 lb Bag — Non-GMO High-Protein Poultry & Wild Bird Treat for Egg Production & Feather Health

kimoe Non-GMO Bulk Dried Mealworms are a 5 lb natural, high-protein supplemental feed made for backyard chickens, ducks and wild birds to support healthy feathers, energy and regular laying behaviors.

These shelf-stable dried mealworms come from a non-GMO source and are prepared to be a convenient, ready-to-serve treat or supplement for poultry and wild birds. Offered in a bulk 5-pound bag, they store easily and provide a concentrated source of protein and nutrients that birds seek during molting, breeding and colder months. Use them as a top-dress on feed, a training reward, or in a feeder to attract wild species to your yard.

How will these mealworms fit into my birds’ daily feeding routine?

Use kimoe dried mealworms as a supplemental protein boost rather than the sole diet. They’re ideal for mixing into regular feed, offering in a separate bowl, or scattering on the ground to encourage foraging. Monitor portions to prevent overfeeding—treats should make up a small percentage of total intake.

• Serve 1–2 tablespoons per bird daily as a treat or during high-need periods.
• Mix into mash or crumble to increase protein in homemade rations.
• Scatter in litter to promote natural scratching and foraging behavior.

Will these mealworms help improve egg production or feather condition?

Dried mealworms supply concentrated protein and amino acids that support feather regrowth and provide extra nutrients during egg formation. They complement a balanced layer feed and can help birds meet higher protein demands during molting or peak laying phases. Results depend on overall nutrition and husbandry—mealworms are a supportive supplement rather than a cure-all.

• Feed during molting to supply protein for feather renewal.
• Offer in small amounts during laying to supply extra amino acids.
• Combine with a complete layer diet for balanced nutrition.

How should I store and prepare the 5 lb bag of dried mealworms?

Keep the sealed bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain freshness and prevent moisture. After opening, reseal tightly or transfer contents to an airtight container to deter pests. No preparation is required—serve dry or rehydrate briefly if desired for younger chicks or as a soft treat.

• Store in a pantry or feed room at room temperature, dry and dark.
• Use an airtight container or clip the bag to preserve crunch and quality.
• Rehydrate with warm water for a minute when offering to very young birds.

Which bird species and situations benefit most from these mealworms?

kimoe dried mealworms are suited for backyard chickens, ducks, turkeys and visiting wild birds like bluebirds and robins. They’re especially useful during molting, cold weather, or when birds need an extra protein boost for growth and reproduction. Use them for training, enrichment, or to attract wildlife to a feeder without changing the main diet.

• Great for backyard flocks needing supplemental protein during stress periods.
• Effective as a wildlife attractant for insect-eating songbirds and garden species.
• Convenient bulk size for hobby farms, small breeders, and avid birders.
