Kidde Smoke Alarm Hardwired with 10-Year Battery Backup, 3-Pack — Interconnectable, Fast-Detecting

The Kidde 20SA10 is a hardwired smoke alarm with a built-in 10-year battery backup and interconnect capability, designed to deliver faster smoke detection and reliable whole-home notification.

Installed as part of a home’s primary safety system, the Kidde 20SA10 combines 120V AC operation with a sealed 10-year battery to keep the alarm powered during outages and eliminate routine battery replacements. Advanced sensing technology helps lower false alerts from everyday cooking or steam while still responding quickly to real smoke. This 3-pack provides multiple units for broader coverage and supports interconnected operation so all compatible Kidde alarms sound simultaneously when one detects smoke.

How quickly does this alarm detect smoke?

The Kidde 20SA10 uses enhanced sensing to recognize smoldering and flaming fires faster than many standard models. Internal testing shows materially quicker response times for certain smoldering scenarios versus older competitive designs, improving early warning potential without compromising false-alarm resistance.

• Advanced sensing optimized for smoldering and flaming smoke
• Detects smoke up to ~25% faster in select internal tests*
• 85-decibel alarm for clear audible warning throughout rooms
• Red LED provides visible indication of alarm events

What power and backup features does it include?

This model runs on standard 120V household power and contains a non-replaceable, sealed 10-year battery designed to last the alarm’s service life. The integrated battery eliminates periodic battery changes and the common low-battery chirp, helping ensure continuous protection even during electrical outages.

• Hardwired 120V AC connection for primary power
• Sealed 10-year battery backup; no routine battery swaps
• Designed to reduce lifetime battery costs versus replaceable batteries
• 10-year limited manufacturer warranty from purchase date

Can I connect several alarms together for whole-house alerts?

Yes — the 20SA10 supports interconnect functionality with compatible Kidde units so that when one alarm senses danger, all connected alarms sound. Interconnection improves the chance that everyone in a larger home hears the alert, but check the user guide for model compatibility and wiring requirements.

• Interconnects with compatible Kidde alarms for simultaneous alerts
• Wiring requirements and supported models vary — review the manual
• Helps expand coverage across floors and distant rooms
• Ideal for multi-unit or multi-level residential layouts

Who is this for: The Kidde 20SA10 3-pack is aimed at homeowners, landlords, and contractors who want code-conscious, low-maintenance smoke detection with dependable backup power and the ability to interconnect multiple alarms. It suits people replacing aging battery-only units, fitting a new build, or upgrading to sealed long-life power so they can minimize maintenance while maintaining consistent, room-to-room notification capability.

*Internal testing comparing Kidde 9th Edition to a leading competitor indicated faster average detection in selected smoldering wood fire tests. Performance varies by fire type and environment. Refer to product documentation and local code for installation and compatibility details.
