Kidde Smart Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector — Hardwired, App-Enabled with AA Backup & Voice Alerts

The Kidde Hardwired App-Enabled Smart Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector provides wired home protection with mobile alerts, voice notifications, and AA battery backup for outages.

This combined smoke and carbon monoxide detector connects to your home's 120V wiring and pairs with the Kidde app to deliver real-time push notifications and voice alerts whether you’re at home or away. Install one Kidde smart device to enable whole-home app notifications across compatible Kidde hardwired alarms; no extra hub required. The alarm includes two AA backup batteries, hush capability, and sensing designed to cut down on nuisance alerts from cooking while improving smoke detection responsiveness.

How does this alarm improve detection and reduce false triggers?

The detector uses updated sensing algorithms and optics to identify smoke and CO more accurately than previous generations, aiming to detect real hazards faster while limiting unnecessary alarms from everyday cooking. It announces the type of hazard with clear voice alerts so occupants can quickly know whether it’s smoke or carbon monoxide.

• Enhanced smoke sensing for faster, more consistent obscuration detection
• Algorithms tuned to reduce nuisance alarms caused by benign cooking smoke
• Distinct voice messages for “Fire!” and “Warning, Carbon Monoxide”
• Hush button to silence non-emergency alarms while keeping protection active

What smart features and connectivity should I expect?

One smart Kidde alarm can bring app-based monitoring to compatible hardwired alarms across your home, enabling unified mobile alerts for smoke, carbon monoxide, and low batteries. Setup is designed to be straightforward through the Kidde app, and no separate hub is required—just your 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi network.

• Mobile push notifications for smoke, CO, and low battery events
• Works over 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi; Kidde app required for setup and monitoring
• Interconnection support with compatible Kidde hardwired alarms—see the user guide for specifics
• Remote hush feature to silence nuisance alerts from your phone

How is the alarm powered and how reliable is it during outages?

This unit runs on your home’s 120V AC wiring and ships with two AA batteries for backup power. The backup cells keep the alarm functioning during power interruptions so the detector can continue to monitor smoke and carbon monoxide until power is restored or batteries need replacing.

• Primary power: 120V hardwired connection for continuous operation
• Included: two AA backup batteries for outage protection
• Low-battery notifications through the app and local alarm chirps
• Compliant with applicable UL standards for smoke and CO detectors

Who is this for: Homeowners and renters looking to upgrade an existing hardwired protection system with modern connectivity will benefit most. It’s suited for those who want combined smoke and carbon monoxide coverage, clearer hazard identification through voice alerts, and the convenience of app notifications—especially in multi-alarm homes where one smart unit can extend mobile alerts across compatible devices.
