Kidde Carbon Monoxide & Explosive Gas Alarm, Plug-In with AA Backup — Digital Readout & Peak Memory

The Kidde COPDLG is a plug-in carbon monoxide and explosive gas detector with AA battery backup that alerts you to low and dangerous CO levels plus natural gas or propane.

Keep living spaces monitored with a single, code-tested device that combines low-level CO detection, explosive gas sensing, and a bright digital readout. The COPDLG plugs into any standard 120V outlet and includes two AA batteries so monitoring continues during power interruptions. Rugged surge immunity and UL/ETL compliance make it suitable for homeowners and renters who want reliable, around-the-clock awareness of CO and combustible-gas threats.

How does this alarm detect both carbon monoxide and explosive gas?

The COPDLG uses separate sensing technologies to identify CO concentrations and the presence of natural gas or propane. When CO is present the backlit display shows a numerical concentration and the unit emits a distinct alarm pattern; when explosive gas is detected the display reads "GAS" and a different alert sounds.

• Low-level CO detection triggers at 30–70 ppm for early warning.
• Distinct alarm patterns separate low CO, dangerous CO, and explosive gas alerts.
• Digital backlit display shows peak and current CO readings or "GAS."
• 85 dB alarm ensures alerts are audible in most home environments.

What keeps the alarm working during power outages or electrical surges?

The COPDLG is designed to remain operational when mains power is lost and to resist damage from voltage spikes. It plugs into a 120V outlet for primary power and uses two AA batteries as a continuous backup so the device can still detect hazards when electricity is out.

• Two included AA batteries provide continuous 24/7 backup monitoring.
• Rotating plug accommodates vertical and horizontal outlets for flexible placement.
• Power surge immunity helps prevent device failure during electrical fluctuations.
• No frequent low-battery chirps thanks to battery and power management features.

How can I tell how serious a carbon monoxide reading is and review past exposure?

The COPDLG displays the current CO concentration on a backlit screen so you can see how many parts per million are present. It also stores a peak level memory so you can quickly check the highest CO concentration recorded since the last reset — useful for evaluating intermittent or past exposures.

• Real-time numeric CO readout communicates current risk level.
• Peak Level memory shows the highest recorded concentration since reset.
• Test/hush button verifies operation and temporarily silences nuisance alarms.
• Separate alarm patterns clarify whether the threat is CO or explosive gas.

What certifications and warranty support does this alarm offer?

This model meets established safety standards and carries manufacturer backing for long-term use. It has been tested to UL 2034, 5th Edition requirements and is ETL Listed, and comes with a limited seven-year warranty to cover defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

• Tested to UL 2034, 5th Edition for carbon monoxide detection performance.
• ETL Listed, indicating independent laboratory verification of safety standards.
• 7-year limited warranty from the manufacturer for added confidence.
