KICMOR 4x6 Checkered Area Rug - Black & White Shag, 1.6" Plush Microfiber Cozy Cushioning

KICMOR 4x6 black-and-white checkered shag rug is a plush indoor area rug designed to add cozy softness and graphic style to bedrooms, living rooms, dorms, and kids’ spaces.

This ultra-soft KICMOR area rug blends a classic checkerboard pattern with a deep, 1.6-inch pile of microfiber fibers and a cushioned interlayer to create a warm, tactile surface. The rug’s high-density anti-slip backing and tight weave are built for everyday use in family rooms, nurseries, game rooms, and apartments, while the bold monochrome look fits both modern and vintage-inspired interiors. It arrives vacuum-packed — allow a couple of days to fully loft — and is easy to maintain with spot cleaning, hand washing, or a low-power vacuum.

How does this rug feel underfoot and hold up to daily use?

The KICMOR shag blend delivers a plush, cloud-like feel thanks to billions of microfiber fibers and a spongy interlayer that cushions steps. The tight weaving process prevents shedding and the dense pile retains loft with normal household traffic. It’s suitable for bare feet, playtime, and lounging.

• 1.6" plush fiber pile for a soft, cushiony surface
• Microfiber construction resists flattening and adds warmth
• Spongy interlayer increases comfort and insulation from cold floors
• Tight weave reduces fiber loss and extends rug life

Will the rug stay in place on different floor types?

KICMOR rugs use a thickened felt backing with over 40,000 high-density anti-slip dots to increase friction and prevent sliding on hardwood, tile, or laminate. The textured backing also helps protect floors from abrasion. For smooth or highly polished surfaces, a separate non-slip pad is recommended for extra grip and to protect finish.

• Felt underside with dense anti-slip dots for secure placement
• Back design minimizes movement on low-pile floors
• Does not damage floors when used as directed
• Optional rug pad recommended for very slick surfaces

How do I clean and care for the KICMOR checkered rug?

Light maintenance is simple: shake out loose debris, use a low-power vacuum or wipe with a damp cloth for spills, and spot-clean with mild detergent. For deeper cleaning, hand wash in cold water and air-dry flat; avoid machine washing, bleach, tumble drying, and ironing. New rugs ship vacuum-compressed — lay flat and allow 48–72 hours for fibers to fully rebound.

• Shake out or vacuum on low suction to remove dirt
• Spot clean with mild soap and cold water; air-dry only
• Do not machine wash, bleach, tumble dry, or iron
• Allow 2–3 days to regain full loft after unpacking

How will the black-and-white checkerboard pattern fit into my decor?

The bold checkerboard graphic is timeless and versatile, pairing well with minimalist, Scandinavian, retro, and eclectic schemes. In a neutral room it becomes a focal point; in a colorful space it ties different tones together while adding visual rhythm. Use it to define seating areas, soften bedside floors, or add contrast in kids’ rooms and studios.

• Classic checkerboard style complements modern and vintage looks
• Works as a focal point or a unifying accent in layered decor
• Suitable for bedrooms, living rooms, dorms, nurseries, and playrooms
• 4x6 size fits beside beds, under small coffee tables, or in reading nooks

Who is this for: KICMOR’s 4x6 black-and-white fluffy checkered rug is ideal for anyone wanting a soft, statement-making floor covering that balances comfort and style — families with kids and pets, college students furnishing dorms, renters seeking a non-permanent upgrade, and homeowners who want a cozy accent to define smaller seating or bedside areas. It’s especially useful where warmth underfoot and a bold visual anchor are wanted without the permanence of wall-to-wall flooring.
