Kenmore Cordless Stick Vacuum DS1020 16V — Lightweight 2-in-1 Handheld, 30-Min Runtime & LED Headlight

The Kenmore DS1020 16V Cordless Stick Vacuum is a lightweight, 2-in-1 stick and detachable hand vacuum that delivers up to 30 minutes of runtime for quick daily cleaning on floors and above-floor surfaces.

Compact and bagless, this Kenmore STRATUS model combines swivel steering, an LED headlight, and two-speed suction to tackle pet hair, crumbs, and everyday dust on hardwood, tile, and low-pile carpet. The detachable hand unit weighs under 3 lbs for easy stair and upholstery work, and a rechargeable 16V battery charges in under five hours for convenient storage and quick access between chores.

How long will the battery last during typical cleaning sessions?

On Low Mode the DS1020 runs up to 30 minutes, allowing for most quick clean-ups and routine passes across a small to medium-sized home. High Mode reduces runtime but increases suction for tougher debris and concentrated spots.

• Up to 30 minutes continuous runtime on Low Mode
• Shorter runtime on High Mode for heavy pickup
• Rechargeable 16V battery, charges in under five hours

What makes the 2-in-1 design useful around the house?

The stick detaches into a lightweight hand vacuum so you can switch from floors to furniture or car interiors quickly. Two included attachments—a crevice tool and a dusting brush—expand reach and improve cleanup precision in tight spaces.

• Detachable handheld unit weighs less than 3 lbs for portability
• Crevice tool reaches between cushions and baseboards
• Dusting brush protects delicate surfaces while removing dust

Will this vacuum handle pet hair and corners effectively?

The swivel steering and LED headlight help navigate around furniture and expose hidden debris in low-light corners. While intended for everyday maintenance rather than deep-cleaning thick carpets, the two-speed motor picks up pet hair and surface dirt on most floor types.

• Swivel steering improves maneuverability around obstacles
• LED headlight illuminates dark spots to ensure thorough pickup
• Two-speed control balances runtime and suction power

How easy is it to store, maintain, and charge the unit?

The bagless design simplifies emptying and upkeep—just detach the dirt bin and dispose of contents. The vacuum self-stands for compact storage and includes a portable adapter for recharging the 16V battery so it’s ready when you are.

• Bagless dust bin for quick emptying and no replacement bags
• Self-standing design for compact, upright storage
• Portable charger included; full charge in under five hours

Who this is for: The Kenmore DS1020 is aimed at people who want a light, easy-to-use vacuum for daily maintenance—city dwellers, small households, pet owners needing frequent surface touch-ups, and anyone who prefers a cordless, convertible tool for floors and above-floor cleaning. It’s best suited for hardwood, tile, linoleum, and low-pile carpets where quick maneuverability and straightforward upkeep matter more than heavy-duty deep-cleaning performance.
