Jax Sequence in a Tin – Portable Five-in-a-Row Board Game, White Tin, Folding Board & 135 Chips

Sequence in a Tin by Jax is a portable five-in-a-row strategy board game that uses playing cards and chips to create sequences and outwit opponents.

This compact edition packages the classic Sequence gameplay inside a sturdy tin for easy storage and travel. Players match cards from their hands to board spaces, place colored chips, and aim to form a straight line of five chips while using strategy to block and disrupt others. The set includes a folding game board, a full deck of playing cards, 135 chips, and clear instructions — everything needed for quick setup and rounds that suit families, game nights, and gatherings of up to a dozen players.

How do you play Sequence in a Tin?

Gameplay is straightforward: each turn a player plays a card from their hand and covers the corresponding space on the board with a chip. The objective is to create an unbroken row of five chips — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally — while preventing rivals from achieving the same. Special Jack cards add tactical depth by allowing chip removal or placement on any open space tied to the game's rules.

• Deal cards to each player and keep a shared draw pile.
• Play a card, place a chip on the matching board space.
• Use one-eyed Jacks to remove opponents’ chips and two-eyed Jacks as wild placements.
• First player/team to make five in a row wins the round.

What comes in the tin and how does it store?

The tin contains all components neatly organized so you can pack up quickly between rounds or take the game on the go. The folding board collapses to fit inside the tin alongside the 135 chips, the deck of cards, and the rule sheet, keeping everything protected and ready for the next play session.

• Sturdy metal tin sized to hold the folded board and parts.
• One deck of playing cards included for board-card matching.
• 135 plastic chips in multiple colors for multiple players/teams.
• Instruction leaflet explains setup, turn order, and Jack rules.

Can many people play at once and what ages are suitable?

Sequence in a Tin supports 2 up to 12 players, making it adaptable for couples, small groups, or large family gatherings. The rules are simple enough for children aged 7 and older, yet the strategic choices and Jack mechanics give adults plenty to consider, so it fits mixed-age groups well.

• 2–12 players: easily scales by adding teams or sharing colors.
• Recommended for ages 7 and up due to card-reading and planning.
• Short rounds ideal for party settings and rotation play.
• Teams can speed up play and introduce cooperative tactics.
