iRobot Roomba 105 Robot Vacuum with AutoEmpty Dock — LiDAR Mapping, 75-Day Self-Empty

The iRobot Roomba 105 Vac with AutoEmpty Dock is a self-emptying robot vacuum that delivers powerful suction, LiDAR-guided mapping, and up to 75 days of hands-free debris disposal.

If you want a low-maintenance robot that cleans multiple floor types while minimizing trips to the trash, the Roomba 105 pairs an AutoEmpty dock with a 3-stage cleaning system and ClearView LiDAR navigation. It’s built to capture dust, pet hair, and everyday dirt with stronger suction than legacy Roomba models, then deposit the mess into a sealed bag that holds up to 75 days of debris. Control is flexible — use the Roomba Home app, voice assistants, or the robot’s onboard controls — and the design is made to blend into modern living spaces.

How does the Roomba 105 keep you from emptying it often?

The AutoEmpty dock collects debris from the robot into a replaceable bag that traps particles and allergens so you only handle waste occasionally. The bagged dock stores up to 75 days of dirt depending on household size and traffic, reducing exposure to dust when disposing of contents.

• Sealed collection bag holds up to 75 days of debris.
• Bags are designed to trap 99% of allergens down to 0.7 microns.
• Simple bag removal: lift out and toss with minimal contact.
• Ideal for allergy-prone households and busy schedules.

What makes its cleaning performance different from older Roombas?

The Roomba 105 uses a 3-stage cleaning system that combines intensified suction with multi-surface and edge brushes to lift and remove embedded dirt. Compared to older 600-series robots, this model delivers substantially stronger suction and targeted edge cleaning for baseboards and corners.

• 70x more power-lifting suction versus select earlier Roomba models.
• Multi-surface brush adapts between carpets and hard floors.
• Edge-sweeping brush improves corner and edge pickup by about 20%.
• Spot-cleaning mode repeats passes for stubborn messes.

How precise is the navigation and can it avoid stairs or obstacles?

ClearView LiDAR rapidly maps your home to plan efficient, methodical cleaning paths that cover rooms in neat rows. The robot detects and navigates around furniture, and built-in sensors prevent falls down stairs while helping it steer smoothly through busy spaces.

• LiDAR mapping creates accurate floor plans for full coverage.
• Smooth pathing cleans in straight lines rather than random patterns.
• Cliff sensors prevent stairway drops for safer operation.
• Obstacle avoidance reduces repeated collisions with furniture.

How do you control cleaning schedules and customize zones?

The Roomba Home app lets you schedule routines, set targeted cleans, and create keep-out zones for areas you want the robot to avoid. You can also adjust suction levels and the number of passes for rooms that need extra attention, while voice assistants enable hands-free starts.

• Schedule daily or weekly cleaning cycles via app.
• Target specific rooms or use spot mode for concentrated messes.
• Create keep-out zones to protect delicate areas or wires.
• Works with Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant for voice control.

Who this is for: The iRobot Roomba 105 Vac with AutoEmpty Dock fits households that want a reliable, low-touch robot vacuum that handles multiple floor types, reduces allergen exposure, and requires minimal upkeep. It’s well suited to busy families, pet owners, and people who prefer scheduled, automated cleaning with strong suction and accurate room mapping.
