Instinct Original Pate Wet Cat Food — Real Cage-Free Chicken, 5.5 oz Cans (Pack of 12), Grain-Free High-Protein

Instinct Original Pate is a grain-free wet cat food made from cage-free chicken and turkey, delivering a high-protein, minimally processed pate for kittens through seniors.

This canned recipe focuses on animal-first nutrition: cage-free chicken is the primary ingredient, supported by chicken liver and turkey to supply concentrated animal protein. The smooth pate texture offers an easy-to-eat meal that can be served on its own or as a tasty topper to boost hydration and palatability. Formulated without grains, soy, potato, corn, carrageenan, artificial colors, or preservatives, this formula aims to provide a clean ingredient profile that mirrors the principles of raw-inspired feeding while offering complete and balanced nutrition.

What is inside each can and why does it matter?

Each 5.5 oz can centers on real meat ingredients to deliver most of the calories and amino acids from animal sources. Vegetables, fruits, and other wholesome items make up a small portion to round out vitamins and fiber without diluting protein content.

• Primary proteins: cage-free chicken, chicken liver, and turkey for bioavailable amino acids.
• Approximate composition: ~95% animal protein sources and ~5% produce and other ingredients.
• No common fillers: free from grains, soy, wheat, corn, and potato.
• Free-from additives: no artificial colors, preservatives, or carrageenan.

How does the pate texture benefit my cat?

The smooth, finely blended pate is gentle on teeth and easy to lap, making it ideal for fussy eaters, kittens, and older cats with dental issues. Texture also helps lock in flavor and moisture, encouraging hydration and consistent intake.

• Easy-to-eat pate for small mouths and sensitive teeth.
• Consistent moisture content supports hydration alongside dry food.
• Appealing mouthfeel increases acceptance for picky pets.
• Works well as a topping to make dry food more enticing.

Is this food suitable for all life stages and dietary needs?

The formula is labeled complete and balanced to meet nutritional requirements for kittens, adults, and seniors when fed per feeding guidelines. Because it contains high levels of animal protein and no grains, it can be useful for owners seeking a grain-free canned option, but always consult your veterinarian for pets with specific medical diets.

• Complete & balanced for life stages when fed as directed.
• High-protein profile supports lean muscle maintenance.
• Not a prescription diet—ask your vet about special health needs.
• Suitable as a full meal or as a mixer/topping for variety.
