Hygge Games party trivia game I Should Have Known That! — Green, 110 cards, fast-play party fun

I Should Have Known That! is a fast-paced party trivia game by Hygge Games that asks everyday questions people are expected to know and penalizes wrong answers instead of rewarding correct ones.

This compact green-box game turns simple facts into fast laughs and surprising moments. With 110 cards and more than 400 short questions, the game challenges players to answer without looking things up — and subtracts points for mistakes, turning the usual trivia formula on its head. Rounds finish quickly, the pace stays lively, and the format produces plenty of “I should’ve known that!” reactions that keep groups entertained from start to finish.

How does the scoring work and why does it feel different?

Instead of giving points for correct answers, this game penalizes errors. Players begin with a score and lose points whenever they miss a question, which raises the stakes for guessing and encourages careful thinking over random answers.

• Points are subtracted for each incorrect response, amplifying tension.
• No points awarded for correct answers keeps gameplay compact and brisk.
• Simple rules make it easy to teach at parties or family gatherings.
• Short questions allow many rounds in a single session.

What types of questions are included and how varied are they?

The pack contains more than 400 questions across 110 cards that cover everyday knowledge, geography, language, history, pop culture, and curious facts. Questions are straightforward and designed to spark an immediate reaction rather than require deep expertise.

• Everyday facts like directions, animal classification, and country names.
• Pop-culture and historical tidbits that prompt quick recall.
• Short, punchy items suitable for all ages and group sizes.
• A mix of easy and deceptively tricky prompts to create surprises.

How long does a typical game take and what setting works best?

Rounds are brief and flexible: a single session can be tailored to fifteen minutes for a quick icebreaker or extended into a longer party game. The compact box makes it ideal for living rooms, dinners, or travel gatherings.

• Quick-play format fits into parties, family nights, and breaks.
• Adjustable length: play many quick rounds or several longer ones.
• Small box and simple components for easy transport and setup.
• Works well with mixed-age groups and casual players.

What comes in the box and are the rules easy to learn?

The set includes 110 question cards and a concise rule sheet explaining the subtractive scoring method. Rules are intentionally straightforward, so players can start laughing and learning within minutes.

• 110 cards containing 400+ questions ready to play out of the box.
• Clear instructions that teach the unique scoring quickly.
• Compact packaging ideal for storing on a shelf or taking on trips.
• Designed for quick onboarding of new players and large groups.
