HEX BOTS Wall Crawler Gecko remote control lizard — rechargeable, LED eyes, climbs walls

The HEX BOTS Wall Crawler Gecko is a rechargeable remote-control robot lizard that scurries across floors and climbs walls with realistic movement and glowing LED eyes.

This lifelike remote-controlled gecko blends hard-plastic body construction with soft silicone limbs and tail to mimic real reptile motion. Designed for play and display, it features a full-function controller, a USB-rechargeable internal battery for the Gecko, and LED eyes that make nighttime play more dramatic. With an 8 m (25 ft) control range and easy-to-use controls, the Wall Crawler Gecko is built for kids and hobbyists who like hands-on remote robotics and playful scares.

How does the Gecko move and climb like a real lizard?

The Hex Bots Wall Crawler uses articulated silicone limbs and a segmented tail to produce a crawling gait that looks convincingly reptilian. Its lightweight plastic shell keeps the center of gravity low so it can transition from floor to vertical surfaces smoothly.

• Silicone limbs and tail replicate natural motion for lifelike crawling.
• Rigid plastic body supports climbing and stable direction changes.
• Low center of gravity and textured feet help grip smooth walls.
• LED eyes add realism and visibility in low light.

What controls and power options does it offer?

The Gecko comes with a full-function remote that operates in all directions up to about 25 feet (8 meters), allowing precise steering and playful maneuvers. The Gecko itself charges via the included USB cable, while the remote requires two AAA batteries (not included).

• Full-function remote for forward, reverse and directional control.
• Control range of approximately 8 meters for indoor play.
• USB cable included to recharge the Gecko’s internal battery.
• Remote powered by 2 AAA batteries (user-supplied) for quick swaps.

Is the design durable and child-friendly?

HEX BOTS balanced durability with play-safe materials: a hard-plastic torso protects internal electronics while silicone limbs and tail reduce breakage risk during bumps. The Gecko is sized and engineered for young players but should be used under supervision for kids under recommended ages.

• Hard-plastic body shields motors and electronics.
• Soft silicone limbs and tail reduce sharp edges and impact damage.
• LEDs are low-voltage and fully enclosed for safety.
• Simple controls suitable for children and hobbyists alike.

How can I get the most entertaining play sessions?

Use varied surfaces and lighting to highlight the Gecko’s climbing and LED eye effects. Combine it with other HEX BOTS figures or small obstacles to create chase courses and obstacle runs for extended, imaginative play.

• Try smooth walls and glass doors for dramatic climbs.
• Dim the lights to make LED eyes pop during night play.
• Create obstacle courses with ramps and gaps for challenge runs.
• Pair with other HEX BOTS toys for group play scenarios.

Who is this for: The HEX BOTS Wall Crawler Gecko is ideal for kids around ages 4–6 who enjoy remote-control toys and realistic creature designs, as well as older collectors and robotics beginners looking for an affordable, rechargeable climbing robot. It’s a strong choice for gift lists, STEM-focused playsets, and anyone who likes clever, interactive tabletop or room-sized displays.
