Hasaky 3M 5952 Double-Sided Mounting Tape 1in x 10ft — Heavy-Duty, Weather-Resistant Strong Adhesive

Hasaky 3M Very High Bonding 5952 double sided mounting tape is a heavy-duty acrylic foam tape — 1 inch wide and 10 feet long — engineered to create near-permanent, weather-resistant bonds across many surfaces.

This mounting tape combines a black acrylic foam carrier with 3M's 5952 Very High Bonding adhesive to offer a compact alternative to screws, rivets and liquid glues. With a 1.1 mm thickness and robust shear and peel strengths, it is designed for indoor and outdoor use where a low-profile, durable join is needed. The tape tolerates elevated temperatures and resists moisture, making it useful in kitchens, garages, vehicles and signage applications.

How strong is this tape for mounting pictures and decor?

The 5952 adhesive provides high peel and shear performance so framed art, plaques and lightweight shelves stay put without visible fasteners. It adheres quickly but develops maximum strength after about 24 hours of firm contact.

• Width: 1 inch (25 mm) for discrete mounting lines
• Length: 10 feet, cut to size for multiple projects
• Peel strength: ~17 lb/in² (30 N/cm) at 90° peel
• Designed to replace small mechanical fasteners when a flush look matters

Will this tape hold up in hot, wet or outdoor conditions?

The acrylic foam carrier and 3M adhesive resist humidity and elevated temperatures so bonds remain stable under stress. Short-term heat tolerance reaches 149°C (300°F) and long-term resistance is rated to 93°C (200°F), suitable for many exposed and enclosed environments.

• Waterproof acrylic foam substrate for damp rooms and exterior trims
• Temperature tolerance supports auto, appliance and exterior mounting
• Foam compressibility helps maintain contact across uneven surfaces

What surfaces and uses is this mounting tape best for?

The tape is formulated to bond a wide variety of substrates, from metals and painted wood to many plastics and ceramics. It is commonly used for LED strip installation, badge and logo attachment, carpet or rug grippers, and securing small modules or rubber feet without drilling.

• Works on aluminum, painted surfaces, glass, many plastics and composites
• Recommended for picture hanging, signage, car trim, and electronic modules
• Noted for use on low-surface-energy plastics when an adhesion promoter is applied

How do I get the best bond when using this double sided tape?

Preparation is key: clean and dry surfaces thoroughly and use an adhesion promoter on difficult plastics. Apply firm pressure when positioning the tape and allow about 24 hours for the bond to reach approximately 90% of its rated strength.

• Step 1: Clean surface with isopropyl alcohol and let dry
• Step 2: Apply tape, remove liner, press with steady force across the length
• Step 3: Wait ~24 hours for peak adhesion; avoid heavy loads during curing

Who is this product for? Installers, hobbyists and homeowners who want a discreet, high-strength fastening method will appreciate Hasaky 3M 5952 tape. It suits anyone needing a waterproof, temperature-tolerant adhesive for mounting signs, trim, electronics, or home decor without drilling. Professionals in lighting, automotive trim, and display assembly will find its combination of shear strength and foam conformability valuable for clean, long-lasting joins.
