GROWTRAX Bermuda Rye Grass Seed Mat — 50 sq ft Biodegradable Roll with Seed + Fertilizer for Warm-Season Lawns

GROWTRAX Biodegradable Grass Seed Mat is a ready-to-roll, all-in-one Bermuda Rye lawn system that combines seed, fertilizer and mulch in a lightweight, biodegradable fabric covering 50 square feet.

Whether repairing a patchy yard or installing a new lawn, this 50 sq ft Growtrax Bermuda Rye roll simplifies planting by placing seed uniformly, protecting it from erosion, and delivering starter nutrients for consistent germination. The product is designed for warm-season lawns, tolerates sun and light shade, and dissolves into the soil as seedlings establish.

How does the roll make seeding faster and more reliable?

Instead of broadcasting loose seed, the mat arrives pre-loaded with evenly distributed Bermuda Rye seed held between two layers of biodegradable fabric. This reduces seed washout and ensures even density across the treated area, so you get more uniform coverage with less waste.

• Seed, fertilizer, and mulch integrated in one roll for a single-step install
• Seed placed at manufacturer-recommended density to promote thick growth
• Fabric anchors to soil to prevent displacement during watering or rain

What conditions does Bermuda Rye in this product perform best in?

Growtrax Bermuda Rye is formulated for warm-season sites with full sun to light or semi-shade and shows medium to high drought tolerance once established. It produces fine-bladed turf that recovers well from wear and adapts to slopes where erosion control is needed.

• Best for sunny yards; tolerates light or partial shade
• Suitable for slopes and areas prone to runoff because fabric prevents seed loss
• Drought-resistant characteristics for lower summer water needs once mature

How easy is the installation and what tools are required?

Installation is straightforward: unroll the mat over prepared soil, cut to fit, water thoroughly, and maintain moisture until seedlings are established. No specialized equipment is necessary—just a utility knife, a rake for soil prep, and a hose or sprinkler for irrigation.

• Roll out and cut with a utility knife to fit patches or full lawn areas
• Light raking to smooth soil then press mat into contact to avoid air pockets
• Keep consistently moist until germination; follow with routine lawn care

Does the mat biodegrade and how does it affect soil?

The fabric layers are biodegradable and break down over time, allowing roots to develop through the mat while adding organic material to the soil. Embedded micro-pellet fertilizer feeds seedlings early on; once decomposed, the fabric leaves no permanent barrier to natural soil processes.

• Biodegrades as grass establishes—no removal required
• Micro-pellet fertilizer supports quick germination and early growth
• Reduces erosion and seed loss during the critical establishment phase
