Gaiam Yoga Mat – Premium 6mm Printed Mat Sublime Sky with Extra Cushioning & Grip

The Gaiam Premium Yoga Mat in Sublime Sky is a 6mm extra-cushioned, non-toxic printed mat that delivers sticky traction and joint protection for home and studio practice.

This extra-thick print mat combines a vivid Sublime Sky pattern with a textured, non-slip surface to help you hold poses with confidence. At 68 inches long, 24 inches wide, and 6mm thick, it provides a plush landing for knees and hips while remaining light enough to carry between sessions. The material is manufactured without six commonly used harmful phthalates, making it a cleaner option for regular practice. New packaging has been introduced, but the mat’s size and features remain consistent.

How does this mat improve comfort and protect my joints?

The additional 6mm thickness creates a softer buffer between your body and the floor, reducing pressure on wrists, knees, and hips during weight-bearing postures. The cushioning helps maintain alignment by offering a stable, forgiving surface that still feels connected to the ground.

• 6mm dense cushioning to absorb impact on joints
• 68" x 24" footprint for full-body support and movement
• Balanced firmness to support standing and seated poses

Will the surface keep me from slipping during sweaty flows?

Yes — the mat’s textured sticky surface is designed for traction, helping hands and feet stay planted during dynamic sequences. The grip holds up for most practitioners; wiping the mat clean and allowing it to air out can restore tack after heavy use.

• Textured non-slip finish for improved grip in transitions
• Works well for slow to moderately vigorous practices
• Easy-to-clean surface that regains tack with regular care

Is the material safe and eco-considerate?

The mat is produced without the top six harmful phthalates (DEHP, DBP, BBP, DINP, DIDP, DnOP, DnHP), making it a healthier choice than many conventional PVC mats. It’s not labeled as organic or biodegradable, but the exclusion of these phthalates reduces exposure to certain toxic additives.

• 7P-free manufacturing: excludes six common phthalates
• PVC-based construction for durability and resilience
• New packaging design, same mat dimensions and performance

How should I care for the printed surface and handle first use?

Printed mats can emit a harmless initial scent when unwrapped; airing the mat for 48–72 hours helps dissipate odors. Clean gently with a mild soap or a yoga-mat cleaner and a soft cloth; avoid excessive water or harsh chemicals to preserve the print and grip.

• Unroll and air out 2–3 days before first use to reduce odor
• Spot clean with mild soap and water; dry flat away from direct sun
• Store rolled with the print outward to avoid creases

Who is this for: The Gaiam Premium 6mm Sublime Sky mat suits runners of classes, home practitioners, and studio-goers who want extra joint cushioning without sacrificing traction. It’s ideal for people who prefer a visually appealing printed mat with a soft feel, those seeking a safer PVC option free of several phthalates, and anyone wanting a travel-friendly weight paired with generous padding for restorative and dynamic practices alike.
