FURWEY Play Sand 13.3 lb Natural Brown Sensory Sand — Moldable, Low-Dust for Kids & Classrooms

FURWEY Play Sand is a 13.3 lb bag of reusable, non-toxic natural brown sensory sand that molds like wet beach sand while remaining dry to the touch.

This tactile play material is made for children who love hands-on creative play and educators who need a low-mess, long-lasting sensory resource. The sand combines the flow and grain of ordinary sand with a unique bind that lets it hold shapes, making it ideal for sculpting, sensory bins, and classroom activities. It’s tested to meet US safety standards and formulated to minimize dust and mess compared with loose beach sand.

How does FURWEY Play Sand behave during play?

The sand compresses and holds form like damp shoreline sand yet stays dry, so it clumps instead of scattering. Its soft, slightly tacky texture helps children sculpt details while also breaking apart easily for repeated use.

• Molds smoothly into castles, animals, or shapes without crumbling.
• Feels like wet sand but dries quickly on hands and surfaces.
• Low dust formula reduces cleanup compared with standard sand.
• Can be combined with simple tools and molds for varied projects.

Is this sensory sand safe for kids and classrooms?

FURWEY Play Sand is manufactured from non-toxic ingredients and has been tested by a CPSC‑recognized lab to meet ASTM F963‑23 and CPSIA requirements. Tests show no restricted phthalates or heavy metals and lead levels below regulatory limits.

• Third‑party lab tested for common toy safety standards.
• Not edible — supervise younger children and discourage ingestion.
• Some users with sensitive skin may prefer gloves; wash hands after play.
• Heat can slightly soften the binder; rinsing hands reduces mild stickiness.

How long will the sand last and how do I care for it?

The sand is designed for repeated use and will not dry out like traditional kinetic sands or clays. With basic care — storing it in a sealed container and keeping it free from debris — it will remain usable through many play sessions.

• Store in an airtight container to preserve texture and prevent contamination.
• Keep away from carpets and fabrics to avoid transfer of small particles.
• Remove foreign objects or craft materials after each session to maintain purity.
• Warm water rinses remove sand from skin easily if needed.

What activities and learning benefits can children get from this sand?

Play with FURWEY sand supports hands-on learning: it encourages imaginative construction play, strengthens fine motor skills, and offers sensory feedback valuable for emotional regulation. It’s versatile enough for independent play, small group lessons, and party activities.

• Puzzles and shape-building that develop finger dexterity and coordination.
• Open-ended sculpting that promotes creativity and storytelling.
• Classroom sensory stations for focused tactile exploration and group projects.
• Calming, repetitive manipulation useful for stress relief and focus.

Who is this product for? FURWEY Play Sand suits parents seeking a low-mess, durable sensory medium for home play, teachers and therapists needing a safe tactile material for classrooms or sessions, and gift-givers who want a creative toy that supports developmental play. It’s appropriate for most children under supervision, especially those who enjoy sculpting, pretend-play, or sensory experiences; note that it is not food and should be kept from very young children prone to putting materials in their mouths.
