Fribug 85W Magnetic T-Tip MacBook Charger – 20V 4.25A Replacement for 2012–2017 Models with LED

This compact adapter supplies DC 20V at 4.25A (85W) through a magnetic T-shaped connector that clicks into compatible MacBook and MacBook Air models from mid‑2012 through 2017. It includes an LED status indicator, wide AC input range for worldwide use, and customer support should you need help. Read on to confirm fit, charging behavior, and everyday use details.

Which MacBook models will this Fribug charger work with?

The Fribug 85W T-tip adapter is designed for MacBooks that originally shipped with the 5/8-inch magnetic T-shaped connector. It covers numerous 11", 13", and 15" MacBook Pro and MacBook Air variants produced between 2012 and 2017.

• Compatible: A1398, A1424 and many later models using the T-tip connector (Mid 2012 to Early 2015 and similar 2012–2017 releases).
• Works with MacBook Air 11" and 13.3" models listed in the product notes.
• Includes broad device list examples: A1502, A1344, A1465, A1425, A1435, A1466 and others named in the specification.

How does the magnetic T-tip connector behave during charging?

The magnetic T-tip makes alignment easy and detaches cleanly when tugged, reducing strain on the laptop’s charging port. An LED on the adapter keeps you informed about charge state so you can know at a glance whether the battery is still charging or fully topped up.

• Amber LED indicates active charging.
• Green LED signals a full battery or standby completed charge.
• Magnetic breakaway reduces accidental port damage from snags.

What are the electrical specifications and safety notes?

This adapter accepts AC 100–240V at 50–60Hz and outputs DC 20V at 4.25A, delivering up to 85W for laptops that require that power level. It’s engineered as a direct replacement but is not compatible with Apple’s later USB‑C or M‑series MacBooks.

• Input: AC 100–240V ~ 1.5A 50–60Hz — suitable for international voltage ranges.
• Output: DC 20V, 4.25A (85W) — matches original 85W MagSafe 2 style power profile.
• Not compatible with 2021–2026 M1/M2/M3/M4/M5 or USB‑C only MacBooks.

What support and service can I expect if there’s an issue?

Fribug offers customer service available online to help diagnose or resolve adapter issues. If the charger arrives defective or fails during normal use, contact support so the problem can be handled promptly.

• Online customer service available 24 hours for troubleshooting.
• Guidance for fit, LED behavior, and returns/exchanges where applicable.

Who is this for? If you own a MacBook or MacBook Air that uses the magnetic T‑tip (MagSafe 2) connector from mid‑2012 through 2017 and need a dependable 85W replacement, the Fribug adapter provides the same connector shape, power output, and a clear LED charge indicator. It’s a practical choice for users replacing a lost adapter, keeping a spare at the office, or swapping out a damaged OEM power brick — but it should not be used with Apple machines that require USB‑C or the newer M‑series power specifications.
