First Alert Carbon Monoxide Alarm CO710 — 10-Year Battery, Backlit Digital Display & Peak Memory

The First Alert CO710 is a plug-and-play carbon monoxide monitor with a built-in 10-year lithium battery and a backlit digital display for continuous, long-term CO awareness.

Compact and simple to place on a dresser, countertop or shelf, this carbon monoxide alarm uses an electrochemical sensor — the most reliable CO sensing technology — to reveal dangerous levels you cannot smell or see. The CO710 pairs a clear numeric readout of current CO concentration and room temperature with an 85-decibel alarm and a peak-level memory so you can track the highest reading detected. Designed for continuous protection without routine battery swaps, the unit also includes an end-of-life chirp and a 10-year limited warranty.

How does the CO710 tell me if carbon monoxide is present?

The CO710 relies on an electrochemical CO sensor that measures air concentrations and updates the backlit display in real time. When concentrations reach hazardous thresholds the device triggers an audible 85-decibel horn to alert occupants.

• Backlit digital display shows current CO ppm (parts per million)
• Peak Level feature records the highest reading since last reset
• Electrochemical sensing for accurate, stable measurements
• 85 dB alarm for clear audible warning across rooms

What maintenance does a 10-year battery alarm need?

The CO710 is designed to operate continuously for up to 10 years on its sealed lithium power source, eliminating routine battery replacement. It still offers a test/silence button to verify operation or temporarily mute nuisance alerts.

• Sealed 10-year lithium battery — no annual changes required
• Test/silence control for quick functional checks and temporary silencing
• End-of-life signal chirp indicates when to replace the unit after its service life
• 10-year limited warranty with proof of purchase

Where should I place the CO710 in my home for best protection?

This model is intended for tabletop or dresser placement in living spaces, bedrooms, or hallways near sleeping areas where occupants will hear the alarm. Avoid locations with heavy humidity or blocking objects that could interfere with air flow to the sensor.

• Place on bedside tables, dressers, or shared living room surfaces
• Keep away from direct steam sources, high humidity, and dusty vents
• Position where the 85 dB alarm is audible in adjacent rooms
• Not intended for outdoor use or in unventilated utility closets

How does the digital display and peak memory help me understand risk?

The backlit screen continuously reports the ambient temperature and measured CO level, while the Peak Level feature saves the highest concentration detected so you can evaluate intermittent issues. This combination helps you spot both ongoing leaks and short-lived spikes that may need investigation.

• Real-time numeric CO readings for immediate awareness
• Temperature readout gives environmental context for placement
• Peak Level stores the highest detected CO concentration since reset
• Useful data for repair technicians or when tracking intermittent sources

Who is this for? The First Alert CO710 is ideal for homeowners, renters and families who want dependable, low-maintenance carbon monoxide monitoring without wiring or frequent battery changes. It suits bedrooms, family rooms and hallways where a visible display and clear audible alarm provide continuous peace of mind. Professionals who need a compact, UL-tested CO detector with a ten-year lifecycle will also find it practical for long-term home safety installations.
