Filtrete 20x20x1 MERV 12 Air Filters, 2-Pack (MPR 1500) — Pleated 1" HVAC Filters for Dust, Pollen & Pet Dander

The Filtrete 20x20x1 MERV 12 (MPR 1500) 2-pack are pleated HVAC air filters designed to capture a wide range of airborne particles while maintaining airflow for home heating and cooling systems.

These two 1-inch pleated furnace filters from Filtrete (by 3M) combine a high MPR 1500 particle rating with MERV 12 performance to reduce dust, pollen, pet dander and many microscopic particles as air moves through your furnace or air conditioner. Each filter is sized 20 x 20 x 1 inches and intended for routine replacement every 90 days for reliable operation and system efficiency. The product works with standard residential HVAC systems and integrates with the Filtrete Smart App to set replacement reminders by scanning the barcode.

How does this filter balance filtration and airflow in my HVAC system?

The pleated media and MERV 12 / MPR 1500 ratings are engineered to trap small particles while allowing adequate airflow for most residential systems. That balance helps maintain heating and cooling performance when the filter is replaced on schedule. It’s important to verify your system’s compatibility before upgrading to higher-efficiency filters.

• Pleated 1-inch design for improved surface area and airflow
• MPR 1500 and MERV 12 capture fine particles without excessive restriction
• Replace at least every 90 days for consistent system performance

What kinds of particles will these filters remove from home air?

These Filtrete filters capture a broad mix of particulates ranging from large dust and lint to much smaller airborne contaminants. Laboratory testing and the filter’s ratings indicate strong performance against pollen, pet dander, household dust and many microscopic particles. The filter is also certified asthma and allergy-friendly for households concerned about common triggers.

• Captures lint, pollen and household dust
• Helps reduce pet dander and smoke particles
• High-efficiency media targets many microparticles, improving overall indoor air quality

How often should I change the Filtrete 20x20x1 filters and how can I remember?

Filtrete recommends replacing 1-inch pleated home HVAC filters at least every 90 days under typical conditions. Homes with pets, smokers, or higher dust loads may require more frequent changes. Use the Filtrete Smart App to scan the filter barcode and set 30-, 60- or 90-day reminders so you receive a notification when replacement is due.

• Standard recommendation: change every 90 days
• Consider more frequent changes for pets, allergy sufferers, or heavy use
• Set reminders with the Filtrete Smart App by scanning the packaging barcode

Will this filter work in my furnace or central AC system?

Yes—these 20 x 20 x 1 pleated filters are designed for common residential furnaces, air handlers and central air conditioning systems that accept 1-inch filters. Confirm your system’s filter slot dimensions before installation to ensure a proper fit. If your system requires a thicker or specialized filter, choose the appropriate Filtrete size and model.

• Intended for standard 1-inch filter slots in furnaces and AC units
• Verify full-fit dimensions (20 x 20 x 1) before purchase
• Works as a 3-month replacement option for many homes
