Filtrete 20x20x1 HVAC Air Filter MERV 5 (MPR 300) 6-Pack — Pleated Electrostatic for Dust & Lint

Filtrete 20x20x1 MPR 300 (MERV 5) is a six-pack of pleated, electrostatic 1" HVAC filters designed to capture household dust, lint and pollen while helping keep heating and cooling systems running efficiently.

These Filtrete filters use charged fibers to attract and hold larger airborne particles that ordinary fiberglass or washable filters often miss. Each 20x20x1 filter (actual size 19.69" x 19.69" x 0.81") carries a 300 Microparticle Performance Rating (MPR) and a MERV 5 classification, giving predictable, low-resistance airflow suited to most standard residential furnaces and air conditioners. The package of six provides replacements for routine seasonal changes and spare filters for multi-zone systems.

How does the electrostatic design improve particle capture?

The Filtrete MPR 300 media is electrostatically charged so fibers attract both positively and negatively charged particles, increasing capture efficiency without drastically reducing airflow. That charged pleated structure traps lint, household dust and larger allergy-aggravating particles as air cycles through the HVAC system.

• Electrostatic fibers act like tiny magnets for airborne particles.
• Pleated design expands surface area for longer filter life.
• Rated MPR 300 and MERV 5 for large-particle capture.

Will these filters affect my system’s efficiency or airflow?

Filtrete 20x20x1 MPR 300 filters are engineered to balance filtration and airflow to avoid undue strain on typical residential HVAC units. Replacing a dirty filter on schedule helps maintain efficient airflow and reduces motor workload compared with clogged or non-pleated media.

• Low-profile 1" thickness maintains adequate airflow for most systems.
• Changing filters every 90 days helps prevent efficiency losses.
• Pleated construction captures more debris before needing replacement.

How often should I replace these Filtrete filters?

Filtrete recommends replacing the pleated 1" filters at least every three months, though frequency can vary by household conditions such as pets, occupants, local air quality, and HVAC run time. The Filtrete Smart App can also help by providing 30-, 60- or 90-day reminders.

• Standard guidance: replace every 90 days for typical homes.
• Homes with pets or heavy dust may need changes every 30–60 days.
• Use visual inspection: change sooner if filter appears clogged.

What systems and sizes are these filters compatible with?

These 20x20x1 Filtrete filters are intended for standard residential furnaces, air conditioners and whole-home HVAC systems that accept a nominal 20" x 20" x 1" filter. The package includes six identical filters, useful for multi-filter systems or stocking seasonal replacements.

• Fits systems requiring 20" x 20" x 1" nominal filters (actual 19.69" x 19.69" x 0.81").
• Suitable for furnaces, air handlers and central AC units with 1" filter slots.
• Six-pack provides up to 18 months of regular scheduled changes for a single-filter system.

Who is this for: Homeowners and renters looking for a reliable, budget-friendly option to reduce household dust, lint and pollen without changing their HVAC configuration. These Filtrete MPR 300 filters suit families who want improved air cleanliness over basic fiberglass media, need an easy-to-replace 1" solution for their furnace or AC, or prefer buying replacement filters in bulk to simplify maintenance.
