Filtrete 18x24x1 Air Filter MERV 11 (MPR 1000) 2-Pack — Pleated 1" HVAC Filters for Allergens & Pets, 90-Day Replacement

These Filtrete filters, made by 3M, combine a MERV 11 rating with the brand's MPR 1000 performance to trap a wide range of particle sizes from household air. Built using Filtrete's 3-in-1 filtration technology, the pleated 1-inch media is designed to reduce dust, pollen, lint and smaller airborne contaminants such as smoke and smog, while still allowing your furnace or air conditioner to operate efficiently. The package contains two filters sized to the actual dimensions 17.68 x 23.68 x 0.81 inches, and each filter is recommended for replacement every 90 days for optimal HVAC performance.

How does this filter balance debris capture with airflow?

The Filtrete 18x24x1 uses pleated media engineered to collect both large and small particles without overly restricting airflow. A MERV 11 rating indicates effective capture of particles in the 0.3–10 micron range while the pleat design preserves the surface area needed to keep system strain low.

• MPR 1000 media for enhanced microparticle capture (0.3–1.0 micron range).
• Pleated construction increases filter surface area to support steady airflow.
• 1-inch thickness fits most standard HVAC return slots without blocking output.
• Two filters per pack maintain filtration for up to 6 months combined if replaced every 90 days.

What kinds of contaminants will it remove in a typical home?

This filter is designed to trap a broad mix of household particles, from visible dust to many smaller allergens and airborne irritants. It helps reduce pet dander, pollen and lint, while also catching finer particulates such as smoke, smog and some bacteria-sized particles.

• Large particles: dust, lint, pet hair and pollen.
• Microparticles: pet dander, smoke and smog (captured at MPR 1000 levels).
• Allergy-friendly: certified for asthma and allergy sensitivity considerations.
• Suitable for seasonal allergy spikes and homes with pets.

How often should I replace the Filtrete 18x24x1 filter?

For most homes, Filtrete recommends changing this 1-inch pleated filter at least every 90 days to sustain filtration performance and protect HVAC efficiency. Homes with pets, high dust, or allergy sufferers may need to switch filters more frequently—every 30–60 days—to maintain ideal indoor air quality.

• Standard recommendation: replace every 90 days per filter.
• Higher use: consider 30–60 day changes if pets or heavy allergens are present.
• Use the Filtrete Smart App to scan the barcode and set 30/60/90-day reminders.
• Regular replacement helps preserve system efficiency and extend HVAC life.

Will this filter work with my furnace or air conditioner?

The 17.68 x 23.68 x 0.81-inch actual size fits most systems that accept a standard 18x24x1 filter; it is suitable for furnaces, air conditioners and central HVAC return grilles. Always verify your system's recommended filter size and orientation before installation to ensure a proper seal and effective filtration.

• Actual dimensions match many standard 18x24x1 filter slots.
• Compatible with furnaces, central AC units and HVAC return grilles.
• Easy to install—check airflow arrow and fit snugly against the frame.
• Two filters in the box provide replacement stock for routine maintenance.
