Filtrete 16x25x4 Air Filter MERV 11 (MPR 1000) 2-Pack — 4-inch Pleated Electrostatic for Smoke & Allergens

The Filtrete 16x25x4 MPR 1000 (MERV 11) air filter is a 2-pack 4-inch HVAC filter designed to capture a broad range of airborne particles while maintaining proper airflow for home heating and cooling systems.

This Filtrete filter, produced by 3M, combines pleated media and electrostatic attraction to trap small and large particles in homes, apartments, and light commercial settings. Each carton contains two long-life 4-inch filters sized to fit systems that require a filter thickness of roughly 4.31 inches. The design balances filtration efficiency with airflow so your furnace or air handler can run effectively across a typical 12-month replacement cycle.

How well does this filter remove tiny particles like smoke or pet dander?

The MPR 1000 and MERV 11 ratings indicate strong performance for fine particulates; the filter captures many particles in the 0.3–1.0 micron range while also collecting larger allergens. It’s not hospital-grade, but it significantly reduces visible dust, pollen, smoke and pet-related particles that circulate through household systems.

• Rated MPR 1000 and MERV 11 for improved small-particle capture.
• Pleated electrostatic media increases particle pull and retention.
• Effective on smoke, pet dander, smog-related particles and pollen.
• Designed to capture household dust, lint and mold spores as well.

Will this filter fit my furnace or air handler and how often should I change it?

These filters are made to fit systems that accept a 4-inch or greater filter depth; the actual product dimensions are approximately 15.88 x 24.56 x 4.31 inches. For most residential installations, a 12-month replacement interval is recommended, but factors like pets, indoor air quality goals, or high dust levels may require more frequent changes.

• Exact dimensions: 15.88" x 24.56" x 4.31" — confirm your unit accepts this depth.
• Standard guidance is to replace once per year for typical homes.
• Check sooner if you have pets, smokers, or elevated dust and pollen.
• Compatible with many media air cleaners from brands like Honeywell and Lennox.

What sustainability or certification features does this Filtrete filter include?

The media contains verified recycled content and the product meets certification standards that support lower-allergen environments. Filtrete filters are third-party audited for recycled material content and are produced under brand quality measures recognized in North America.

• Verified to include at least 50% recycled content by an independent auditor.
• Certified asthma and allergy-friendly for residential use.
• Manufactured by 3M under Filtrete quality and performance standards.
• Includes app-compatible reminders via the Filtrete Smart App for timely changes.

How does using this filter affect HVAC performance and airflow?

The 4-inch depth provides increased media area so the filter can trap more contaminants without overly restricting airflow when installed correctly. Properly matched to your system, it helps maintain efficient operation while offering improved particle capture compared with many thinner filters.

• Thicker pleated design increases surface area for particle capture.
• Engineered to balance filtration with acceptable system airflow.
• Changing the filter on schedule helps preserve HVAC efficiency and longevity.
• Works in furnaces, air conditioners and compatible HVAC units that accept 4" filters.

Who is this for: Homeowners or building managers seeking a step-up in residential filtration who need a durable 12-month 4-inch filter that captures both fine and coarse particles. It’s a good choice for households with pets, seasonal allergies, or those wanting a reliable, certified product with verified recycled content and simple replacement reminders via an app.
